Video:
The picture quality on this set, is pretty much well done. I only notice very few pixelations. But it's absolutely nothing to complain about. Beautifully done video quality I must say.
Audio:
Since this is pretty much a rip from the american FUNimation DVDs, you know what to expect. Beautiful audio quality. No flaws whatsoever! The Japanese voices are cool, cute, and distinctive, and it suits the characters perfectly. As for the English dub, I think it's pretty average. Tohru's voice is somewhat good, but the fact that she screams whenever she's surprised, is pretty annoying. However, the only english voice I found annoyingly horrible was Momiji's voice. And the voice actor for Ritsu made it very obvious that the character is actually male. Why couldn't they just use a female's voice? Oh well...I guess it only makes sense. To my surprise, almost all the english voices sound pretty impressive. But I still perfer it in Japanese, thank you very much! ^_^

Comment:
I've seen a lot of cutesy animes over the years. But I've never seen something as adorable and heartwarming as Fruits Basket. The series demonstrates how pure life can be, despite harsh moments. And instead of just being introduced to a character and later on, know who they really are on later episodes like most anime these days (well except for some characters), they get straight to the point on why some of the Sohma family members or any of the important characters not related to the Sohma family, are so cheery, stubborn, sad, overly upset, self-centered, or mysterious. That's what I like best about the anime. The story is well played, the music is both relaxing and cute, and the cast of characters are one of the brightest I've ever seen.
Tohru Honda is the cutest character ever (played by one of the most gorgeous seiyuu, Yui Horie), Kyo's temper is more humorous than scary at times, Haru's black personality is both awesome and hilarious, Akito is one cold-hearted SOB, Momiji is very cheerful and extremely childish despite his age, Yuki's somewhat calm exterior makes him one of the coolest characters, Ayame has the funniest laugh and romance logic ever, and Shigure's dog-like silliness is such a riot.
Fruits Basket is a very delightful series that best describe the fresh fruits of life, youth, friendship, loyalty, love, trust, and happiness. Highly reccomended for anyone who enjoys good anime! Definently worth seeing. You won't be disappointed!
Note: The set I have is from Anime Cartoon or Manga Video, with the same features as the FX set. Same box art without the label below the package (i.e. 26 Complete Episodes 3 Discs Boxset Version). However, the discs were numbered incorrectly. Volume 1 is correct, but volume 2 actually has the last batch of episodes, meaning it's supposed to be volume 3. While the "3rd volume" has the 2nd batch of episodes, making that one the 2nd volume. Just thought I'd point that out, for people who might be confused after buying the same set as mine.
