The video was very good, there was very little noticible pixelation. Everything looks clear, no skipping problems, weird episode distribution (6,10,10) and it still was great. Great dvd Quality!
Audio:
The audio was perfect. Two tracks one english, one japanese, both in 5.1 . The was no synching problems at all, the music was great not too loud nor low. PERFECTION!

There were no extras, 5 chapter breaks per episode (prologue, ope,A,B,end). The menus look great. This series is really good, a lot of drama combined with action, not very fast paste but still entertaining and it hooks you up, based on the PSone games Arc the Lad I & II. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!! Equipment used: APEX AD-1110W, DAEWOO 20" TV

the video quality is very good on a Flat 21" TV using s-video (4.5/5) one thing to note, is the difference , in video quality, between the background and foreground (characters & objects) the background seemed a little bit on the dark side and shabby while the later was crisp , rich in color and sharp , me thinks this is how its suppose to be by thee developers so, it seems it is meant to be that way .. its not a problem but only a something i noticed anyway if your watching from a monitor/LCD you'll notice the previews note more and you might catch little pixlesation here and there, also video compression is likely to be more noticeable on a PC (4.0/5) Episodes count/DVD: (6-10-10) Although Bitrate varies i didn't notice the difference while watching Bitrate/ep number 7.50Mbps:12,13,17,18 9.03Mbps:7-11 9.35Mbps:1-6 9.42Mbps:14,15,16,19,20-26 DVD 1: DVD5 [size: 3.5 GB] DVD 2: DVD9 [size: 6.20 GB] DVD 3: DVD9 [size: 6.17 GB] 26 episodes spread on 3 DVDs (6-10-10)= 26 episodes Running time: 25 minutes x 26 = 650 minute
Audio:
both English & Japanese are in 2.0 Dolby Digital both tracks are clear and recommended.

ARC THE LAD is based on the PlayStation Game "Arc the lad" & "Arc the lad II" i got to admit , at some point in the story , my eyes became watery , i almost shed a tear. the story is that good. It?s a bit slow at the beginning. i just finished it ...(it was a great 2 weeks to watch this epic) one word : WOW !! highly recommended

the pictures seem to be dark at certain points in the movie and during a changed scene, you can notice a few glitches here and there. It wasn't too bad and didnt interfere with the movie and you probably wont even notice them unless you were on the lookout. The movie was made around 1999, so a few problems here and there was ok, but overall you can see everything perfectly well and had no trouble distinguishing the characters when they had the far away screen shots.
Audio:
the Audio comes pertty damn close to a 5, i listened to it in enlgish and Japanese (only becuz alot of the times English voices sound soo dumb compared to itz original Japanese) but the sounds were perfect, you could hear everything clearly, the only problem i could find was when they zoomed in on a character's face while someone else is talking their voice seemed to be whispering when in atcually, there yelling there ass off.

Storyline: 4.5 stars!!! If any1 is fimilar with the video game this anime is based on, then they should know that the storyline for this movie is intense! and will keep you wondering till the very end. Filled with a series of twists and betrayal it keeps you thinkign throughout the entire movie till the very last battle against their "true" arch enemy. Furthermore the ending to this movie will blow ur mind away, they did it in a way that you did not expect it to happen, and becuz i dont want to spoil it for any1 whsoe planning on buying this set, i do enjoy the ending (one of the best parts in the entire movie)...although in the beginnign it starts off extremely slow , it picks up and some of the problems that happens to them jsut makes you wants you to scream at the TV and curse and cry and everything. The only problem i could see was that, they didnt explain about Arc's past as well as they should, becuz in the video game you play Arc from beginning to end so you kno watz the problem, but in this DVD the movie revolves around Elk (another main character) and then you have a 5 minute flashback about Arc and why he is on the wanted list....so i felt that they didnt included enough information....antoehr problem is that the fighting scenes they make are too short, espcilly one scene, where u see 2 of the good guyz fight eachother, you think tehre gonna have a huge-ass showdown, but instead they move onto a different scene and then come back to the fight, with everything already over (total B.S.). ANother thing that has me wondering is, why bother fighting with swords and their weapons when most of the time they jsut use there magic to defeat the enemy. As for Character development.....they did a GREAT job in that, in which you can actually tell that people are in love and you get to see the main characters (epsicially elk) grow throughout the movie. so to sum it all up...i recomend this movie for people who are into fantasy, sci-fi, romance, and action, cuz this movie has it all!!!
