Overall:
Video:
Absolutly no degeneration in video quality throughout the entire set. I have an RCA Proscan DVD player and a 32" GE television. I have gone over this set with a fine tooth comb and I cannot find any flaws what so ever.
Audio:
Superb sound. I'm getting all channels on my Sony 5.1 system without fail.
Subtitle:
Have not watched anything but the first episode with subs but they were on time with no omisions.
Comment:
A beautiful set worth the watch. Despite this being, in essence, an Evangelion clone I like it a lot. Honestly, I think it is far better than Evangelion story wise.

I will give the video quality a 5 as it's crisp, sharp, clean, I can imagine it's identical to the R1. I didn't have to adjust color or brightness on my tv to watch it. but I have to give disk 1 which I am on so far a 4, in two of the episodes so far there is a part where the disk seems to hiccup or stall, one is near the end of the episode during a fight scene and it covers quite a bit of that. the other is during a scene in school...considering I paid only 20.98 for the 2 disk import I can't complain as once you get past that all the rest is fine so far. I just hope when I get to disk 2 I don't run into the same prob. I play all the dvds on a dvd player though I may test a bit of them on my puter.
Audio:
audio seems fine to me except of course when I hit those glitches I talked about above. otherwise audio is perfectly good. once again please note I watch anime that has english dub first in that and then I may come back to watch with subs at some point. I prefer watching in the language I understand and I found comparing the subs and dubs that it's not all that different but this way I don't have the distraction of reading the subs when I want to really see the animation fully.
Subtitle:
haven't watched it in this except for a wee bit...looks fine to me though.
Comment:
I saw a bit of this on tv and decided when I saw they had an import version to pick it up. overall the dvd set I have which I think is the same as the one listed is pretty good. worth the savings of $ to buy since totally watchable and maybe not all the disks will encounter the little stop and go glitches I got on a couple of the episodes in one or two places. the story without saying to much is a light funny one not totally ha ha funny outloud but more cute and funny...not loads of mecha action for those that may think there are huge battle scenes..it's almost secondary to the story. I like it and think it's fun to watch on a day when you just want to have something light to entertain yourself. overall I think it's a *** stars out of 5 star rating for series rating.

The video quality for this set was fantastic. The only real problem it could possibly seen as having is it's just a little bit grainier than the R1s. Other than that, no graphical glitches or horrendous pixelation. Everything played through just fine.
Audio:
No problems with the audio here, either. There is one small quirky thing that I encountered though. The Japanese language track is the default, like most MI releases. Just thought I'd note that MI seems to do R1 rips differently like that sometimes.
Subtitle:
The sub was fine. I could find no fault with it whatsoever. I don't like the font much though, kinda hard to see.
Comment:
Chapters: The first 13 episodes are split into the standard 5 chapter increments. Opening, Part A, Part B, Closing, and Next Episode Preview. The last "Special" episode that brings the series to a close only has 4 chapters, on account of it needs no episode preview. Menu: Menus are pretty much R1 ripped. However, they have this weird thing going with some text in the background that looks like it's going crazy. All vibrating and stuff. Kinda makes you go cross eyed if you look at it. To access the scenes you have two options at the bottom. One for the first 4 episodes and one for the last 3. That's 7 episodes per disc, in case you're bad at math. These menu options spell "Vision" wrong, though. Quite a great feat considering it's spelled right in the R1 ripped buttons right above it -_-. Anyway, I'll keep accessing my "Visoons". Packaging: I thought this was great packaging! In addition to one clamshell case with holders on either side for the two discs, you get a cool looking box to slip your case in. Everything is glossy and well designed A good set overall, I liked the show, although it may be a bit too light for some. I've never seen Tenchi either, so I can't really compare or comment on similarities or downright "rip-offs". Reviewed on: Sylvania DVD Player, Generic DVD-ROM

Video:
Nice, crisp, clean video with vivid colors and detail.
Audio:
Crystal clear and in-sync with the video.
Subtitle:
This is a Region 1 rip--so perfect names, great translation and nice grammar. A couple of minor problems: there are about 1-5 dropped lines per episode, and often times the subtitles for on-screen text/signs/etc. will appear transparent with a hard black outline, making them hard to read. These problems are no big deal and do not hurt the enjoyment or understanding of anything that goes on in the show, though.
Comment:
This is a two disc set. Each disc has 7 episodes (13 episodes and a Special). Each episode is broken up into Opening, Part A, Part B, Closing, and Next Episode Preview. There are no extras to speak of. The packaging is kind of cool--a clear plastic case with cover art and art on in the inside of the cover that fits into a slipcover box--it's how a lot of HK DVD 2-disc sets are done nowadays. The graphics on the back of the cover and box could use some touching up, however. As for the show itself, think if someone applied a predominantly Tenchi-esque formula (a nice, overall average guy who somehow gets to live with several other girls who like him or end-up liking him) to a sci-fi/mech show (some of the robot designs and some of the robot-fighting situations reminded me of Evangelion). There is some integration of 3D CGI and traditional animation. It is a funny show, but overall just fluffy and light-weight entertainment.
