I have to disagree with the first reviewer. The set I got was perfect in every way. The video is great on all the dvds, I have watched all of it but for two of the movies I have left which I am watching soon. now I watch my dvds using a dvd/vcr player, panisonic and watching it on a 21 inch tv (I think it is, it's been with me for 13 years, 21-22 something like that), sony tv and the video was really good, a lot of times I adjust the brightness and color with the 'imports' but this set I didn't have to because the colors and brightness were just about perfect. If you don't want to spend hundreds on getting all the tenchi fun, go for this collection FX does it! I think this is a 4.5 to a 5.0

Audio was very good too, I had no problems. oh I do have to say in the tenchi ova, the previews had no audio, just the music and you could turn on the subtitles to see what the next episode was about..I have no idea if they used an english audio for the ova or not but it was no big deal because you could just flip on the subs and it was only for the previews...but funny thing is the last few, I didn't count, maybe 3 or 4 episodes.....did have audio, go figure...but there no problems with any of the audio in any of the dvds.....all 9.

Comment:
I really have grown to love the Tenchi saga....it's funny, it's tearful and sentimental at times, it's serious at times.....I love Ryoohki!, she is the cutest bunny that meows, ok so that one is wierd but very funny and besides it's not a stretch when she can also turn into a ship and a big mecha bunny....and Mehoshi (sp?) is hysterical, another favorite character of mine. And you get used to the fact that the ova is different then the muyo and tokyo series, they all have a different slant on how tenchi met all of them and the grandfathers history....but that is what is also interesting about it ..it's like you get different views of what could be one of many background stories...still they all keep the humor and sentiment intact throughout. Highly recommend if you enjoy funny characters, fun stories, good animation, lots of color and character.

The video on the first two OVA's was great. No problems there at all. But the TV series, "Tenchi Universe" had a noticable dip in quality. Lots of pixelation. The second TV series, "Tenchi in Tokyo" or "Shin Tenchi Muyo!" had better quality, but wasn't as good as the OVA. The movies had noticable pixelation as well. Video: 3.5/5.0
Audio:
Audio was good, but there were some sync problems here and there. Very annoying. Audio: 4.0/5.0
