if you don't understand japanese at all then don't buy this dvd at ALL! The subs really suck the phrases they speak go veyond your tv screen in other words, if your tv is a 13 po, the phrase will be 15 po so basically you miss the start and the ending of the phrases. the names keep being mixed up all the time and the series ends an awful way, you don't get to know the characters at all they keep saying they need to go some place but end up for the whole series another place and thne they decide to go on with their journey, which basically brings you back at the start. Don't buy it at all unless you can find a better dvd set

If you can't understand japanese, then run away. This DVD has some of the worst subs I've ever seen. You can understand a lot of it but names are wrong and grammar is all wrong. This series badly needs a fansub to take the subs from. The video and audio are pretty good. Especially considering that it is 13 episodes on 1 DVD. But the subs are crap.

I have the 2 disc set of the above anime and would like to warn fellow anime fans. The anime (for gamers), video and audio quality is very good. But the subs, they are the worst i have seen. Every defect, you name it they have it. in EVERY episode, the names are all jumbled up. the character even changes name after a while melody to mello. The subtitles don't fit the screen very well. The subtitles are too fast. in the last 3 episodes, the timing is off. DON't GET THIS TITLE unless you want to puke out your internal organs.

Topic says it all. Video: Looks good for the most part, but once action gets going, breaks up to pixelation hell. The bitrate is disgustingly low (was this way on the AV 2 disc version too.) until the last 2 episodes, which are fine. Overall though, not great but not horrendous. Just don't be expecting perfect quality (R2 Rip with lots of low-bitrate encoding, just about anything from Animation Video has this, AS ripped or not.) Subtitles: BAD. Engrish Hoy. AYBABTU! I really can't recommend this disc on the basis that the subs are so bad. The names are wrong, many lines are missing, timing is off, word choice is incorrect, and overall it's just a giant mess. Audio: Nothing bad. Overall: Heed warning - Video isn't too good and subtitles are ass.

Cramming the whole series on one disc really kills the video quality of this disc. Don't know what they were thinking here, it looks like a VCD at times because of it. The subs are very bad, understandable but very bad.
