Overall:
Video:
1rst DVD 5/5: R2 DVD rip, stunning graphic, no pixellation. There were 2 scenes (Aoi and Kaoru childhood flashback) where the lighting is a little too bright but it's very insignificant compared to the rest. 2nd DVD 5/5: Same as 1rst 3rd DVD: 3,5/5: TV rip, 2 vertical lines appearing on the left side off the TV , ghostly figures on all 6 episodes. It seems that the 3rd DVD of all 3 DVD set of Animation Video is a TV rip, for example look at my review of Azumanga Daioh, Chobits and Tenchi Muyo GXP, the 3rd DVD is a TV rip while the first 2 DVD are R2 DVD rip (except in Tenchi GXP, all 3 DVD are TV rip)
Audio:
No complaint, I loved the opening song very much.
Subtitle:
1rst DVD 3,5/5: A couple of mispelled name Right name=wrong name Kaoru = Karou (It stays Karou from Episode 5 to 9) Tina= Judy (Only a couple of time on episode 4) Sato= Sado Minazuki= Minazuri Uzume= Mai (It stays that way until the end of episode 24 A couple of mispelled word, the translation from Japanese to english okay but not that great. There were missing a word in many phrase so you had to guess what the missing word was. Sub timing is great 2nd DVD: 4,5/5: Unlike the 1rst DVD, the sub is simply amazing, there is only 1 mispelled word in every episode on the DVD, 1 mispelled name and that's it. The sub timing is perfect and the translation from Japanese to English is way better than the 1rst one 3rd DVD: Better than the 2nd DVD, 2 mispelled word only and the rest is perfect. Kaoru-sama becomes Master Kaoru through the rest of the episodes
Comment:
I liked the anime a lot. It starts like a romance story between Aoi and Kaoru but after the 4th episode, it starting to become like a Love Hina anime, here's the comparaison of the character of both anime Kaoru = Keitaro Aoi = Naru Chika = Sue (They look and act the same) Tina = Kitsune (Drink booze a lot) Miyabi = Makoto (Very strict) Taeko = Shinobu (minus the breast size, both loves cooking) There are more romantic spot in AYA than LH, all the girl falls in love with Kaoru in separate episode. The ending was great to see. I can't wait to see the sequel of it Ai Yori Aoshi - Enishi. If you are a Love Hina fan, then it's for you. Give it a try and you'll love the romantic scene in this anime. HIGHLY recommanded Extras in DVD Textless opening (first and second song) Textless ending (first and second song) Commercial spot TV trailers All 3 DVD are DVD9's format
