This is some of the most stunning visuals I've seen in a long time. I didn't see a single instance of pixellation or loss of detail throughout the entire movie. This is a good thing because the movie has some of the most impressive animation I've ever seen.
Audio:
The audio has an amazing dynamic range from really quiet quiets to really loud louds. The only down side is that the audio tends to run a little on the high end of things so when you hear some of the highs there is a bit of distortion to the sound. The other small complaint I have is in the original sound recording of some of the voice acting. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not but in a few scenes it sounds like it was recorded inside a tin can. It could be that the sound engineer was trying to simulate interior echoes but when compared to the rest of the sound sculpting the voices in those few scenes leave a bit to be desired. For as much as I typed about those two problems they are very minor in the grand scheme of things. The sound is in perfect synch and all the music and environmental effects are a true joy to behold.

Comment:
I recommend that people watch this movie just to see some amazing imagery. The story is fairly standard love triangle slash big corporation vs. the environment type stuff but the presentation of it is breath taking at times. There are handy chapter breaks throughout the movie in handy places for resuming if you have to turn off the movie for some reason. Best of all there are pretty good extras on the disc. The art gallery starts with a music video of all the locations followed by different renderings and production sketches from the movie. Then there is a making of special which is NOT subtitled but still does a great job taking people through the creation process of this movie. If I have any complaint about the movie is that it feels like a video game more often than not. It seems that many scenes are lifted directly from some spectacular racing or fighting or platform game that we may get to play some day far in the future. It's an odd sensation that unfortunately diminishes the overall experience of watching the movie. I still recommend this just to absorb the eye candy if for no other reason.

This film takes CGI and mixes 2D characters into it. This film is a definate step in the right direction for CGI. My jaw hit the floor just from watching the intro. The story lags a hair near the end but is not a let down by any standards. I definate rate this as a must have for anybody who likes CGI or anime movies, if nothing else at least rent this one it is well worth it

Using the original R3 DVD release as a source for the video, there is practically nothing wrong with this pristine transfer. No macroblocking, no sharp edges, colour saturation is kept to a bare minimum, this is simply the very best transfer I have seen on ANY HK DVD to date. This is especially important since Wonderful Days is such a visually appealing and complex production that requires the utmost clarity to fully display it's awesome art and animation. Already I can say with some confidence, that the visuals in this movie are comparable with the upcoming big budget Ghost In The Shell: Innocence Fortunately, the transfer on this disc is more than up to the job. No problems here folks.
Audio:
The audio on this disc is solid throughout without any hissing, hang outs or compression problems. Also as a side note, i've not had any problems whilst listening to the DTS audio track on my PC and Cyberhome DVD Player. I believe it was reported (with the MI version at least) that there was significant sound distortion and dropout some way into the movie, thankfully such problems don't appear to exist here.

Wonderful Days is an asthetically accomplished production that besides needing to be a little longer, is a movie that stands on it's own merits. Jaw dropping to watch and mesmirising to experience, this is simply a movie that has to be seen to believed. A tour de force of animation, and a shining example of Korean animated productions catching up to lofty standards set by the best of the land of the rising sun.

everything - as far as technical aspects are concerned- is perfect in this release and the movie looks breathtaking. yep...it only looks like that. IMHO was a very disappointing example of a missed chance of creating something remarkable. boring, predictable with some of the most stereotyped charachters I have ever "met" in an animated production.

Comment:
The story is only so so at best.Too bad that the writer couldn`t have done a better job to make the viewer care more about the main charecters. The animation is great here so it is worth checking out the CG animation.
