Out of the early 1990 specials, Hemingway Papers turned out to be one of the few memorable ones. The plot revolves around a nation undergoing a civil war. One of the leaders is in possession of certain Hemingway documents that contain the location of a mysterious treasure. Naturally, Lupin is after the documents so he can claim the treasure for himself.
Mixed up in the fun are Jigen and Goemon who happen to be hired guns on opposite sides of the civil war. Throw in a strong-willed female bar owner and a toothy nemesis from Jigen\'s past, and the gang has their hands full. Having Jigen and Goemon on opposite sides makes for some amusing sequences, as they attempt to honor their contracts while not actually harming or killing each other. There is not much comedy in this one, but the action is balanced throughout the story making it flow well.
