Reviews for Saint Seiya TV Part 1
Video:
Audio:
Subtitles:

Overall:

Video:

It's obvious it wasn't ripped from a digital source but it's better than the others VHS rips I've seen. Maybe a VCD rip ?! Video is too red oon the first disc.

Audio:

Mono sound, using a Prologic 2 decoder will be useless.

Subtitle:

Disc #1 : The 1st half has very good subs then they changed the translator and I think it was subbed from the french version (some names are the ones used in France, I'm French and I watched when it was on TV), titles and summaries were not translated at all and sometimes and some parts were not subbed as well. Disc #2 and #3 : Translated from Chinese. A lot of engrish but everything is understable but a lot of names are wrong. For instance, Esmeralda (the daughter of Ikki's master) is called Aixeman but her real name is Esmeralda.

Comment:

Packaging : this is not a big set but 2 3-disc sets with nice artwork but low-quality printing. I'm a bit disapointed by this set, I you read the Animegod description, you must have seen they wrote that subtitles were fixed, I was cheated because of that. There is another problem with the chapter menu, I think they recompressed the AC version (AC logo often appears) so if you try to watch the first episode of disc #2 using this menu, you won't be able to watch it because it's on disc #1 :o Update: There is no change in the second half, so it's translated from chinese and authoring issues are the same. I had some difficulties with last disc on my 2 stand-alone players and my PC DVD burner but it played fine on my XBox.
