Video:
Video quality is great for the most part, the only problem I noticed was when there were dark scenes things looked blocky like the scene was made out of see through squares it's not as bad as it sounds though and the scenes that are dark are few in number. considering that all 39 episodes are on 4 discs (Split: 10/10/8/11) this set is well done.
Audio:
No sound quality worries to be had here. I liked the dub.
Subtitle:
Tested the subs in 3 or 4 episodes, they are the official English subs and are white colored.

Notes* *I watched this series on a COBY brand DVD player (DVD-224 model) with AV cable on a 25 inch RCA TV. *There are no extras.

This anime looks very 80ish in how it is drawn, colors and presentation. I found no errors or pixilization on the four disks eather
Audio:
Perfect no problems
Subtitle:
no problems with this part of the collection
Comment:
This series is almost a dead match comparable with the 80s series Estaban Child of the Sun or Mysterious Cities of Gold as it was known in the USA. The characters 3 children with an animal sidekick is the same. One child lost their parents and past a match. Adult sidekicks and friends a match. even the length of the two series is comparable. and an foe who is using ancient technology comparable. I enjoyed this series more because it reminded me of the other series I mentioned. I give this series a total thumbs up

Watched on a 51cm Sony Flatscreen. Perfect presentation, there was absolutely no pixelisation. In fact, it looked better when the was lots of action flashing around. The large, flat, static blocks of colour suffered *slightly* the same way any animation of this style does when it's transferred to a digitally compressed format. Smashing!
Audio:
Didn't listen to it on anything flash, just the standard stereo speakers on my Sony TV. Appropriately loud and dynamic. Region 1 rip.
Subtitle:
The English subs differed from the spoken dialogue, but I suppose that's normal in R1 & R4 releases anyway. I'm also reliably informed that the Chinese subs are quite okay too.
Comment:
I know that Gainax aren't particularly proud of this animation. Which is a shame, because while it's not on par with Eva & FLCL (but what is?) it's still a sweeping epic fantasy with a lot of heart. It's the sort of thing that they should have put on for after school cartoons, and not another rerun of Captain-fucking-Planet. You rock Hideaki Anno. The presentation's pretty great, and whatever minor shortcomings it suffers, it's to be expected from a cartoon of this vintage. It's not the fault of this pressing because it's exactly the same as the legit version in my local Video Ezy. Oh yeah, and for all the purists who say that Anime should remain in it's native language, buy this and it'll prove there's at least a little merit in the other side's argument. The English voice cast are splendid, while the Japanese dialogue, well... it's pants.

QUICK REVIEW (i only watched episode 34) Perfect considering the age of this series. R1 rip (english credits).
Audio:
R1 rip, stereo sound.
Subtitle:
R1 rip. It has 2 sets of english subs, one if you want to watch it with the japanese audio, and another one if you watch it with the english dub with songs subbed. As I said, i only watched episode 34, it was perfect.
Comment:
I will do a better review when I will be done with it but it really seems to be perfect (the packaging is perfect too even if the main cover is not the best part).
