The main problem I had with the video was the overpowering abundence of reds, the overall quality wasn't to bad, but I don't belive that it was taken from vhs, I'd have to say a bad laserdisc dub.
Audio:
Very muffled, it was clear but sounded like it was recorded on the inside of a bathroom, echoes, reverbration and all. Underwater recording session perhaps?

I loved the other SMJ series and I liked this one as much or better than the others, I only have the 1st 2 discs of the 3 for the set-thank god. In retrospect-having gotten the R1 set-this one sucks big time.

Below average - at least in the beginning. The first handfull of episodes suffer from poor transfer - the main problem are the "REDS", which come out over-powering and too bright.
Audio:
I recall nothing wrong with it. I will have to say that it may have not been the best.

Only a hardcore fan need apply here, I was outraged at the sloppy quality and hard to follow subtitles.

First of all.. i must say when i watched the SMJ fansubed version.. i totally loved it and i've been searching for SMJtoX for 1 year.. the fansubs seems to only done till episode 10.. and stopped..only 1 year later, i found this, bought it instantly of ebay. here's my review: Video : The drawing itself is very different from SMJ, not a chrisp, so.. but the Video quality is bad... seems like it's dubbed from some VHS tape that's been left alone for years.. you see lines appearing once in awhile.. imagine you're watching a VHS anime tape that is pretty dirty and you'd need to tune your VCR to watch it.. that's pretty much the same as this dvd, but then again.. it's still watchable.. since this is the only DVD of JtoX that's avaliable.. go for it only if you're a hardcore fan. Audio: this is good.. pretty clear audio.. good enough for me :) Subtitles : ahh.. this is where it's totally dissapoints me.. Otaru is renamed Gan, Lime, Cherry, Bloodberry are all renamed as well.. one of the worst subtitles i've ever seen. it's still however understandable overall, but it really puts me off, i do understand chinese so most of the time i have to switch to the chinese subtitles to watch this series.. the chinese subtitles are better then the english ones.. imagine taking a passage of jap language, translating it into chinese, then translating it into english, ignoring all gramatical structures.. just do a direct translation.. well that's what this dvd is like.. overall: Buy it only if you're a hardcore fan :) if you're not.. you'll be wasting your money.

Wow, the video for this was pretty bad. Its like it came from an old TV Cassestte (AS). I was extremely disappointed because this was one of my favorite Anime Series.

This set sucked big. Very big. Lets start with the video. The video didn't skip and was fairly smooth. The problem is that there was alot of color distortion. It seemed that somebody used a camcorder to record this episode. The sound was in sync with the video, but it was muffled. You could hear static. It was as if someone used a tape recorder and recorded the audio. The subtitles were the worst I had ever seen. To this day I don't know why the idiots that made this call bloodberry cranberr. They say bloodberry clearly in english on the show. The subs are not easy on the eyes and they are all incorrect grammatically. There are also a couple of instances where they aren't timed correctly

Saber marionette J to X is the second stage of Saber marionette J. The story of J to X is that the main character from saber marionette J goes to xianhing (that's why it is called J to X) with his marionettes, Lime, Cranberry and cherry. Before they go to X, they endure a couple of hard times. Also when they arrive in X a lot of dramatic things happens. I find the end very dramatic . The video quality isn't that great, there is also too much color in it. The subs are good, although the names were spelled as from the chinese version. The sound is good. The box is unfortunaly only a piece of plastic with a cover picture. The box contains three DvD's and there is a special episode included. A good DvD from Animestudio.
