After reading the book known as The Universe of the Four Gods, schoolgirl Miaka Yuki was magically transported to ancient China. She soon discovered that she was the prophesised Priestess of Suzaku, the only person with the power to summon the beast god Suzaku and save the land of Konan. Now that Miaka has gathered the Suzaku Seven, celestial warriors who will guide and protect her, she must prepare for Suzaku. However, Miaka?s task has become much more difficult because she now has an adversary: the Priestess of Seiryu. It has now become a race to see which god will be summoned first and, ultimately, whether good or evil will triumph.
