Video:
Fushigi Yuugi is rather old, so even the R1's had its share of dirt and grain. I didn't see any extra pixelation or defects, though. The video is really good and sharp. Very nice.
Audio:
There was both Japanese and English in great quality. I hadn't heard any problems from either of them, so they're all good. You should really watch it in Japanese, though.

Menus:
From the R1's, I'm asuming as they're rather boring. They're a still picture of the Universe of the Four Gods opened, with the selections over it.
Packaging:
I could have got the FX set, with the spiffy box for only $40, free shipping, but I spent the extra money just to get the MI set for this reason. The packaging is AWESOME. Not just the cover, but the insides, the discs, everything looks just so beautiful.
The discs feature a character on each, with them surrounding by the LD pictures nicely put into the design on the discs. The pictures behind them are clear, and look really really nice. The back is amazing, with the letters made to look spiny, like it's being stretched away.
One amusing thing is they took the summary directly from the Japanese LD's english summary. Unfortunantly, the Japanese LD's used a bunch of Engrish in it, so sentences such as "Is the handsome boy who saved still around?" make its appearence.
Anyway, it's worth it to just get the set for the beautiful packaging. Totally well done and a joy to look at. I'll put picture of it in the screenshots section later.
Content:
The show is just a classic. One of my favorite adventure shows, I finally got in on the DVD format. It's definantly a reccomendation for every viewer.
All the openings and endings are there. Openings are hard-subbed, while endings are unsubbed. Very nice release.
