Video:
Video for this series was excellent. This show has a lot of quick changing scenes and loads of movement at most times, and those scenes suffered no pixelation at all. None! I didn't see any at all. Definetly sourced from the DVD release of this show from not to long ago. A nice job in the video department.
Audio:
Audio comes through very clear and crisp. I didn't notice any distortions or severe drops in audio level through out the entire show. This show has a lot of long lines and screaming, and it all sounded great through the entire show! Very good job here!

Comment:
This show is hilarious in a make-no-sense kind of way. Alot of the humor lies in the wierd things that happen that could never happen. It's a cartoon that aknowledges it's a cartoon (as the Weather Lady tells you many times). Speaking of the Weather Lady, she's not even a part of the show. She just pops up whenever and whereever to say or do something. Very off the wall comedy. And I loved it! It's by the same guy who did Excel Saga, so that kind of tells you what kind of humor it's going to be. Very cute show. It's a children's show, and does feature some toilet humor (peeing, farting, you know), but not to many of those jokes. This show would definetly appeal to everyone. My favorite episode was the sentai spoof, where the kid Musashi was dressed as Kamen Rider, and later in the show, some girls transform into the Sexual Harrassment Rangers to beat up Nori and his friends because they are gross to girls. Did I mention the most uttered line in the show is "this has no relevance to the story..." and that each episode features a dance number at the most inappropriate times? I think you get the idea of what this show is like. Now, for the DVD of it itself... The case is incredibly well done. The front cover and inside the packaging features the crayon-like art you see in the show's credits. Matter of fact, it's the same pictures you see in the credits, but I doubt they took it from there. Probably an larger source of the same pictures. The back features just some screens from the show. I noticed some that weren't in the show, but they are probably in later episodes. Gatefolds open to the two inside flaps forming a big picture of all the character's giving the peace sign. This picture is in the second ending credits, and looks really nice seeing the whole cast. Inside is more of the crayon-like art I mentioned above. Looks really good. Something I liked that they did is that instead of gluing the plastic disc holders in the usual for knob spots near the corners, they did in under the little divits you but your fingers under to pull the disc up. Holds it alot better. The discs themselves contain the same art on them as the picture behind the disc holder they go to. It's a shrunken version of the picture, and not one that completes the whole back picture as you see sometimes. The episodes on the discs themselves are distributed evenly. Nine episodes per disc, making the 27 on this whole set. I want to point something out, and this tricked me a bit, but at first, I thought an episode was skipped. The next episode preivew had a different episode name then the next episode on the set. But, luckily, Harebuta pulled out the correct episode script and showed it to Nari, and the correct episode played. Like I said, this is one wierd show. So remember, you might think it, but no episode is skipped on the set!! Don't freak out like I did! Each disc starts out with the MI logo. It does this animation thing where it shows some crayon-like art getting erased till the menu appears. The menu is your typical HK one. Play all, Chinese or English subtitles, and chapater select. Chapter select doesn't seem to work on disc three. I've clicked it mulitple times and it does nothing. Strange. Each episode plays out by the opening, episode, ending, and next episode preview. The show features two openings and two endings, each with different songs. The first opening is a real cute one, the second one is kind of like a hard rock one. Both ending songs are pretty uplifting. The second ending has some new art in it, but at some points shows clips from the episode you just watched, so each one is different. The eyecatches are left in the show, as well as they should be. Commercials are usually announced when they are coming in the show and sometimes used as a comedy device. It's wierd. You Have to see most of this stuff to truly understand it. All the openings and ending are subbed. All of them. For each episode. Both songs for both endings and openings. Subbed as well as the show is translated too, which is another reason I don't think the sub script is a rip of the American dub script. Sadly, the next episode previews aren't subbed!! And I really wanted to hear them too since they are more whacky then the show itself. The way the chapters are divided in the show are... wierd. But I guess it works for a wierd show. The opening, episode, and ending song are one chapter, and the next episode preview is in a chapter of it's own. I'm sure the Weather Lady is flattered by this, since she does all the next episode previews herself. I'll mention it again, that the next episode previews aren't subtitled. None of them. But back to the chapters, this means you can't skip the openings (I don't know why you would) or skip to the middle of an episode. You can easily skip the ending song, though, which again, I don't know why you would because there pretty good. Absolutely no watermarks or email addresses, which is a plus for many out there who are really annoyed by them. That's pretty much everything. I watched the show using my good old Toshiba SD-1200 DVD player, which seems to be notting running as well as it used to, and an old Zenith TV that my family has had for years. Anyways, I don't know who or how to recommend this show. If you're a fan of off the wall comedies, then by all means pick this up. It's just so out there and so crazy, I think everyone would love to see it. What else can I say besides I can't wait to see part two!!!!!!
