As wonderful as it must been for a series like Fushigi Yuugi! Clear picture, no pixelation and nothing other that disturbs you watching this anime!

Audio:

One of the best I ever heard! Crystal clear even through a sound system!

Subtitle:

Simply wonderful!!!! Can't say much more. The subs made this Set perfect!

Comment:

Excellent!!! As a fan of Fushigi Yuugi or one that wants to become one you can't help yourself than buying this DVD Set. (Well, I guess this Set is a rip of the normal DVD Version. )

Video was absolutely beautiful. I watched it on both computer DVD and regular TV and it was wonderful quality, no pixelation, distortion or oddities. Colors were bright and viewing was definitely quite a pleasure! The animation was impressive as well.

Audio:

Audio was excellent, crisp, clear with no static, background noises, or really odd volume changes. There were only a few minor places where it was a little out of sync, but I mean MINOR. I watch it in the Japanese and the voices were wonderful and came through nice and clear. I just have alot of trouble watching these shows in english. I don't think the english VA's do the characters justice! But that's personal preference!

Subtitle:

This was where it lacked slightly. Sometimes the subtitles would flash by too fast to read them, this was rather rare, but they also had a slight syncing issue. The character would speak for a few moments before the subtitle would pop up and on rare occasion the subtitle was missing completely and you know you missed something. Other than that the subtitles were great! Very easy to read, a nice and I think accurate translation. Not a full 5 stars, but pretty close!

Comment:

This set is absolutely beautiful! Not only is the storyline beautiful, but the box set itself I think does the story justice! The outer box is a little flimsy, but very nice looking. The individual boxes themselves are "Suzaku," "Seiryu," and "Oni/Eikoden." Each interior fold of the box and many of the DVD?s sport the image of one of the Suzaku Seven and the rest of the artwork is beautiful and laminated to protect it. The inside of the Oni/Eikoden set has episode summaries for that set. Very very nice and a wonderful addition to anyone?s set! I personally loved the story and will probably watch it again in the future when I have a little more time! The characters were developed wonderfully and you really grow to love them as they struggle and learn and grow. Beautiful story! A must have for any romantic!!!

I had no issues with the video quality for this set - however there were times when there was too much layering "special effects" it did cause a bit of distortion/pixelation (could be the DVD quality), but this hardly occurred which is why I am rating it a 4.5

Audio:

No issues with the video - I only watch in Jap (english subs) and it's all good on this end. There were a couple moments whereby the volume went up in one chapter other than that, pretty consistent.

Subtitle:

Subs were good, there were times when the subs just flicked by too quickly before you can even read it. Or sometimes the subs came on a bit slow, or it's just missed and you know you missed something! However it didn't occur too often so it's still all good.

Comment:

What can I say, if I had 10 thumbs they will all be up because the storyline is just amazing. Just an absolutely beautiful set, now if only they will laminate everything including the box to protect it longer. The writers/creators of this set should be proud of themselves for a job well done! A fantastic drama/romantic series with several touches of good humour to ease the 'drama'. This has got to be one of my favourite sets - my favourite in terms of romance was Ai Yori Aoshi but this tops it in my opinion. Talk about true love conquering all along with the best of friends supporting you. Another thing that makes this a special set to own is, in most cases when there are supporting actors in the set - you aren't really interested in them and just want to know about the main characters. However this story is so well made, the bonds that were set just made the entire set very engrossing. I have had many "panda" eyes because it's too hard to tear myself away from watching the set! Also I have watched the Suzaku, Seiryu and Oni set so far - just trying to debate within myself if I should watch the Eikoden because I have read the chapter descriptions on the 'boxset' and not sure if I want to watch it. Will provide update once I watch it. Also once I finished watching Oni - I was actually thinking the poor voice actors must've gotten tired of yelling each other's names several times ie : MIAKAAAAA!!!! TAMAHOME!!!! PS : For those who hate sad endings - do not fear, this has a good ending! :) A must have to own!

Some minor engrish but nuthing to deter me at all.

One of the best anime I've ever watched that kept me hooked up and just like the story depicts...'once you opened the book of 4 gods you got 'transported' or sucked into the story...hihi. Packaging was awesome and equally good as compared to the original boxset which burn a hole in yur wallet. Lots of extras as reviewed posted by others. Liked the music video collections too a total of about 16 music clips to enjoy. Go get this boxset if you r an anime fan of FY Mysterious play...! .

I've been through all the discs now and never once noticed anything that would bring this down from a perfect score.

Audio:

Both the Japanese and English audio tracks are indistinguishable from an R1 release. Perfection.

Subtitle:

I almost didn't give this a 5 star rating because of the fansub set that I own on tape. Don't get me wrong, the timing is perfect, the subs are super easy to read, and best of all everything is well translated. The only complaint we have is that there is a set of fansubs available for this series that does an even better job of capturing the story without any swear words being used. I'm still giving this a five star rating because it is a perfect rip of the R1 release.

Comment:

That previous review covers just about anything I could have said. The box that these discs come in is very well made and I'm impressed with the printing quality. It's easily on par with any number of R1 sets as far as packaging is concerned. This is one of my all time favourite series and I highly recommend that anyone who hasn't seen this series should pick up this set (or at least the individual sets for the regular TV series... you can live without Eiko Den).

no pixelation at all!!

Audio:

both track are great and perfect although the jap track is always the best ( in my opinion )

Subtitle:

The subs are simply perfect, no missing lines no mispelling, PERFECT. Note that on some sets the subs are either white with a black line or yellow. Very seeable.

Comment:

The story I found it great, although ( in my opinion is still won't beat Ayashi no Ceres ;) ) It caugh up my curiosity pretty fast although there's some comedy to make you laugh through out the set and also sometimes you can predict how the situation will end up and so obvious on the Miaka and Tamahome relationship thing as well. Packaging SUPERB, great gatefold with great pictures and images, even the episode list are on it. Also on each DVD there's a picture of one of the Celestial Warriors. Also note you got lots of extras and I'll describe them right below if it helps you Suzaku Box - Appendix Notes 1 - Interviews 2 - Bibliography 3 - Gallery 4 - Omake 5 - Footnotes (Footnotes contains the following ) 1 - The names of the Celestial Warriors along with the meaning of their sign 2 - A deeper explanation of the Universe of the Four Gods in detail 3 - Description of a Youkai named Suna-kake Babaa 4 - Explanation of the word ' No Da ' which Chichiri adds often in his dialogue 5 - Explanation of several words used often by characters etc. and much more Seiryu Box - Extras 1- Music Videos ( A total of 19 music clips based on the music throughout the series mostly still very good, Also subbed in jap ( green subbed ) and english subbed ( light yellow subbed ) 2- Art Gallery 3- Line Art 4- Credits The Mysterious Play ONI/ EIKODEN Disc 1 no extras contains episode 1 - 7 Disc 2 menu is jap and can choose between the last two episodes of Oni or the Eikoden which brings you to a new english menu Eikoden Contains the following 1- Design Gallery 2- Non-Credit Enging 1 3- Non-Credit Enging 2 4- Non-Credit Enging 3 5- Non-Credit Enging 4 6- Trailers of Eikoden / I My Me Strawberry Eggs / Clamp X / Vandread Second Stage Also in the gatefold itself the episodes are titled along with a small synopsis for all 4 episodes of Eikoden. Overall Fans of Fushigi Yugi will want to get their hands on this baby!!!!
