TV Series 3.5/5 On the whole the video quality was excellent, the images had crisp lines and the colours were generally goog, but my only gripe was that if the background or image scrolled across the screen, whatever was moving went quite grainy and then went back to normal went it stopped, it didn't happen during battle scenes or anything like that, just during scrolling. It happened consistanly throughout the 49 episodes. It wasn't terrible but quite noticeable and just took the edge of the quality. The only pixallation I saw was during the battle between Heero and Zechs at the end of episode 49. Endless Waltz 5/5 Absolutely excellent! No problems whatsoever. A display of how it can be done.
Audio:
No problems at all with either sound track, clear with good definition, no drop-outs and a half decent 5.1 track on Endless waltz, can't ask for much more.

Comment:
Overall a very good box set. If the series video quality had been the same as the FX G Gundam set then this box set would have been worthy of 5/5, but the graininess means that it only deserves 4/5. The packaging is awesome, the split gatefold like G Gundam is a fantastic idea. I really like the way FX package their DVD's, everybody else should follow their example. Gundam Wing gets a lot of grief, but I think it is an excellent series that thoroughly deserves to be part of the Gundam franchise. Nice Gundam designs, good characters with decent development and a decent plot. It loses it's way alittle during the middle, but the change of director really got things going again. Well worth seeing.

TV Series: 4.5/5.0 R1 DVD rip. Really clear with a few pixelated areas. The only major pixelation is when a Gundam fires its machine guns...most notably when Heavy Arms (Trowa's Gundam) uses the machine guns on its chest in both opening sequences. There were a few instances of pixelation during spacefights, but they were not near as noticeable. The entire set is split up in this fashion... Disc 1: Episodes 1-8 Disc 2: Episodes 9-16 Disc 3: Episodes 17-24 Disc 4: Episodes 25-32 Disc 5: Episodes 33-40 Disc 6: Episodes 41-49 Disc 7: Endless Waltz Movie and OVA's Endless Waltz Movie and OVA's: 5.0/5.0 The video is a perfect R1 DVD rip with no pixelation whatsoever.
Audio:
TV Series: 4.5/5.0 2.0 English and 2.0 Japanese. The sound was always clear without any interferences...except for the preview to Episodes 32. The audio for the Japanese version consisted of part of the closing song and opening song. The subtitles were fine for the preview, but the audio acts strange. The English audio was fine for the preview. Endless Waltz Movie and OVA's 5.0/5.0 5.1 English (for the movie only), 2.0 English, and 2.0 Japanese for the movie and OVA's. The audio is perfectly crisp and clear.

As for the packaging... The Limited Edition box has pictures from the R1 boxset(I believe). It has a pic of Wing Zero and Epyon on the front cover and a pic of the Gundam pilots on the back. The 1st gatefold has a pic of Wing Zero on the front and a few pics from the series and episode list on the back (1-24). The inside has a pic of Heero's gundam on the left and the 5 gundam pilots on the right. Open it all the way and it has a pic of the 5 Gundam pilots in casual wear to the left, a pic from the 1st(Heero w/Zero) R1 DVD cover, followed by a pic of the 2nd(Duo w/Deathscythe) and 3rd(Quatre w/Sandrock) R1 DVD covers. The second gatefold has a pic of Epyon on the front cover with a few pics from the series on the back along with an episode list for episodes 25-49 and Endless Waltz OVA's. The inside has a pic of Heero, Relena and Wing Zero on the left, and a pic of Wu Fei, Mariemaia, and Gundam Altron on the right. These are taken from Endless Waltz. Open it all the way and from left to right...a pic of R1 DVD 4(Wu Fei w/Altron), 5(Trowa w/Heavy Arms), 10(All 5 Gundam pilots), and Endless Waltz R1 DVD cover. Overall the series was great, the movie was even better. The Endless Waltz Movie/OVA is an EXACT rip of the R1 "Special Edition" version. The menus are the same, even the animations are the same when exiting and entering a menu. Only the Endless Waltz disc has Extra's...MS Encyclopedia, gallery, textless endings, trailers, credits...all ripped exactly from the R1. The series has only a basic menu consisting of "Play All", "Chapter", "Subtitle" and "Audio" options.
