All I can say is this is a must buy for any Sailor Moon fan. This is when the Outer Senshi are introduced along with Sailor Chibi Moon. You are getting a good quality series (if you're a Sailor Moon fan) for an excellent price. Both the dub and original Japanese dialogue is there and so is the classic American Sailor Moon theme (which I actually pretty liked). However, the anime still does not derive itself from the usual monster of the week them but is a change from the first 2 seasons because they are not hunting energy for once, but for pure hearts that have weapons know as the Talisman and if combined, becomes the Holy Grail. Kamiya Akira (who Hokuto no Ken fans may recognize him as Kenshiro), does a wonderful job playing a mad scientist and his role of Prof. Tomoe took my breath away.

I am very impressed with the video. Way better than half the other DVD's I own. There was a quite qa few pixilation errors, most notably the last disc. In the episode where Mimet dies, there was some pixilation and it skipped a scene. Becuase it only happened once, I'm giving it the top score.
Audio:
The audio was slightly low when watching the Japanese version of the DVDs. I had to turn it up on my TV to hear it, but hey, I've had worse. There is also the English version on it but I didn't watch it becuase the voices were unbearable. Good for children though.

Direct R1 rip! No problems here! Absolutely no pixelations on the 1 + 2 disc. I did notice some few quick scenes on the third disc and the extra video included is totaly pixelated, but it does not matter seeming that they added the same textless op in all three discs.
Audio:
The sound quality was great! A++ - Has subtitled Japanese and the dub. (which is horrible sounding btw..)

PACKAGING DESIGN: The packaging is good but not great. The back has a short summary of the series and a few pics in box format with glowing edges. Not what I'd do for a back cover, I've seen better. For example the backing to I my me strawberry egggs. That was great design. Probably because It was actually taken from R2 dvd cover and back art. ^.^. If anything I WOULD have loved to have seen a picture of Sailor Saturn on the back holding her glave, like some of those pretty pictures of her out there on the web. Nope, sorry gals and guys, No SATURN pics in this dvd set. - When you open the gatefold, you see a episode listing for the entire series on both flaps. Nice touch. :) - There are four dvd's in this set so there are four matching pannels. - - The first dvd panel/dvd design is of Venus. Beautiful pic!! - - The second and third dvd panel/dvd design is of all of the senshi minus saturn sitting on a roof. Nice pic. - - The last dvd panel/dvd design is of Chibimoon. I think this pic is adorable. Still I WOULD have liked a pic of Saturn since she's vital to this series. Overall score : B MENUS: Moving Menus taken directly from the R1 rips. Picked Sailor moon, Chibimoon, Mercury, and Venus each of the dvd's. Which I think is pretty smart seeming that those were for the most part the pics they chose for the inside. Or MAYBE that's why the chose pics of in particular Venus and Chibi Moon... EXTRAS: Same textless opening on all four of the discs. Heavily pixelated on the last disc. CHARACTER DESIGN: The same Sailor Senshi we know and love!! Great quality for something that came out in like 1994! I have to say that this series is one of the best looking series out of all of the 5 Sailor Moon Seasons. (aside from stars that is, but stars was way to dark in general -character color wise.). STORY QUALITY: This is my favorite season of Sailor Moon. I think it's better than Sailor Stars. (SMSS comes in second!) IT'S GREAT!!! ENJOYABLITY: BUY IT NOW~!! Will be a family favorite for ages to come!

Excellent video quality. This is a rip of the R1 set put out by Pioneer and it shows. The only reason i give it a less than perfect score is because some slight pixelation occours in the japanese openings on the last disc. Its anal i know, but nothing is perfect.
Audio:
Superb sound quality in both the english and japanese tracks. This is a very good rip job by the people at fx. A word of warning though, the english dub is the dub used in the censored version of the show, so even though the episodes are pretty much uncut, you will hear the inane dialouge if you listen to it in english. My advice go with the japanese track.

The S season is the best season of Sailor Moon that i have seen. The story is great, there is lots of good character interaction, and nice new characters. If your a sailor moon fan you should defenitly pick this one up. its a fraction of the price of the R1 release and comes in a nice gatefold with good art work. This is sailor moon the way it was meant to be seen.

Very nice! Not exactly the best, but very good considering that SMS was never released on any media higher than LD in Japan. This set is ripped from the R1 DVDs, so yeah, good quality.
Audio:
Overall good, but a little too low. Not very loud. That's not a major issue, though.

This is my favorite season of Sailor Moon. It's so dark, and you get to meet great new characters. This DVD set is worth getting!
