The video in the TV series (discs 1-3) is ver very pixalated, there's even pixalation on the slow scenes as well, but in the OVA (disc 4) there is no pixalation what so ever, the video is perfect & looks great. All the pixalation is due to all the extras that each disc contains. The video is not good but watchable.
Audio:
The audio is the best thing this set has, in the TV series has 2 tracks, english & japanese both 2.0. The OVa has 4 tracks, the 2 extra tracks that this disc contains are 5.1 stereo in both language. Everything was in sync. PERFECTION!

Comment:
This series is fantastic, its pack with lots of action & some comedy in it, the OVA is pretty serious with no comedy but it has action, this could be one of your fav series so give a try. Each disc has extras (4previews in TV,6 in OVA) and it has 6 chapter breaks per episode (prologue, ope, partA, partB, end, preview). Even with the pixalation I ebjoyed this series so I highly recomend it but not the set. Equipment used: APEX AD-1110W, Daewoo 20" TV

Grainy at times, but overall nice, crisp and clean.
Audio:
I had to constantly adjust the volume on my TV because it was loud at times and soft at other times. Also, the music mostly overpowered the speech.

Comment:
On my computer DVD player, about halfway through the 3rd episode on each disc, it would freeze and lock up my system. On my stand-alone and PS2 it would skip at least once every 5 minutes. I don't know if I just got a bad copy or if this has been happening to everyone else. Being unable to watch it on my PC REALLY bugs me because I usually use (a really like using) headphones. I own several FX titles and this is the only one, so maybe I got a bad batch.

It's a r1 rip..Look stimply beautiful in almost all scenes... but it's not perfect, i am afraid. There is some pixealation in some scenes. Where i noticed more pixealation was in Episode 8 - DVD 1 last episode, it was specially noticeable, when there was movement ...there was pixealation....but strangely it was more visible in the last episodes of each DVD. Don't know if it's my Player / Television Set up but there's some for sure...maybe it depends on your setup ? so i give it a 4/ 4.5 (some episodes have no pixealation - But it's more a 4 ) for the TV Series ... As for the OVA i hardly found any (if any) pixealation (gets a 5). So overall it gets a 4 , but when it looks good it really looks really beautiful ... but be warned there's pixealation (the other reviewer didn't complained so much...so maybe it 's my System setup...i'll give the benefit of the doubt) . The Video Quality just isn't consistent.

no problems in this departament. The OVA includes 5.1 audio tracks.

Comment:
includes some extras in DVD 1 : prologue and closing, creditless Opening / Ending, Trailer and DVD credits The others DVDs only include some trailers for other Pioneer releases. The only problem i found with this set was the pixealation i mentioned .

Looks like a perfect R1 rip. I didn't watch the whole series yet, but what I saw looks great. There is some very minor digital artifacting in a few scenes with lots of action and detail, but you have to be looking for it to see it. I should note that the extras included on the discs appear to be encoded at a lower bitrate than the episodes, and have a bit more artifacting.
Audio:
Sounds as good as a R1. The English dub track is a little softer than the japanese, but that's pretty common.

Comment:
All around, it's an excelent set for a great price. Everything is the same quality you'd expect on a R1 set. Even the menus are in english, animated, and look great. Scene selcetion allows you to select opening, part 1, part 2, and closing for each episode. Includes extras: Disc 1 has the special prolog and closing, creditless opening and closing sequences, and the TV comercial. Discs 2-4 have trailers for other Pioneer series. FX did a fantastic job on this set, and I feel it was well worth the $36 I paid for it.
