It might just be me but you really have to try and look for pixelation during heavy scenes. Everything looks undescribable. You will barely notice it, especially once your intent on watching the fight between Frieza and Gokou when they battle it out. The colors couldn't be any better!
Audio:
The psuedo-stereo that MI made out of this set came out great. The R1's have the original mono.. But there is no echoing or problems like past series that have tried to do this. I hear everything perfect on my setup. Just great!
Subtitle:
This department doesn't get a complete 5 just because of some mistranslated names and episode titles. Not to mention the bad subbings for the opening and closing songs. They could have easily got the lyrics online at any anime lyrics site. They also could have found the whole list of 291 episodes and their real names easily through the internet.. Which I believe is lazy on their part. Dende is still called "DanDan" and Yamcha is Yincha. Kuririn is called Korin or Krullin. Attacks sometimes get translated too like the Genki Dama aka Spirit Bomb is called "Energy Blast." Besides these minor faults the subs are fairly decent and you will be able to understand what is going on.
Comment:
You just still can't get the enjoyment from the R1's as you can from these Dragon Box ripped sets. All the original colors will give you the feel of how Dragon Ball Z was supposed to be watched. Including all the original music and none of that poppy crap that Bruce Faulconer created. Get this set you will love it!

Video:
The video for this set is a direct rip from the Dragon Box set one recently released in Japan. Considering the lower bitrate, the series retains it's quality throughout with minor pixelation on certain scenes. Aside from the pixelation, near perfect.
Audio:
Lacking a dubbed track, but this inclusion would have only had the 9 episodes per disc suffer further compression, I am to understand the audio ripped from Dragon Box was tinkered with for this set, but regardless of this adjustment, it sounds just dandy to me. No complaints in this department, I hear every yell, punch and explosion with no difficulty.
Subtitle:
Now coming from a bootlegged market, the subtitles in these sets aren't always upto par, we've come to expect the odd grammar and name errors. This set is no exception, although it does improve towards the end. Minor mistakes include "Sun Goku" instead of Son Goku, "Korin" or "Kulilin" instead of Kuririn, and "DanDan" instead of Dende. This set of episodes are easy to understand and you will not be disappointed with the English subtitle track. High rating.
Comment:
So the Freezer saga is herewidth concluded. The final episode of this set begins the rather poor Garlic Junior saga, and whilst it is entertaining, does not compare to the upcoming Trunks and Android/Cell sagas. The packaging for this set features a rather menacing visage of Vegeta, and retains the feel used for the previous three. Hats off to Manga International for another fine DragonBall set of episodes. Let's hope they keep coming.
