This set is a good buy.Part 1 is worthy of buying if you are a Mazinger Z fan. Edit:Cause there no Part 3 reviews. Here's the deal. Video 5/5 they use the new version that got the video quality improved.Good source better than the first set. Audo 5/5 no problems. Subs 2/5 here's the downfall. The use the same old subs that it came with the old first set that was released by M/I & MAC Before the Perfect sets. The names are all wrong & the storyline sucks on this set.I for one sold my old set & was hoping the Part 3 would got the same subs quality like the first set but I guess MAC got lazy & decided to use the same old subs with fixing them. The set contains italians subs & chinese subs as well but I can't comment on these cause I don't understand them.I will be getting soon Part 2 so as soon I get this I will post a review on this also over here cause there nowhere to post them. Edit 2: Just got Part 2 today. Here's the scoop. The set is the same as Part 3 good video/audio quality but the same horrible english subs that came on previous set.For what I was told the italian subs are really good nearly perfect. So if you understand Jap audio,Chi subs,Ita subs this is a really good set but if you're looking for good english subs this is not the set for you.

It doesn't look like remastered, its good considering the age of the series. I remember seeing an episode a few years back (on TV), this is much better. The one on TV looked hevilly deteriorated.
Audio:
you can hear it fine, but there is somethinga about it that does not sound good.

So far so good, the grammar on the subs is cool, few mistakes, but totally viewable. If they come out with the next one I will buy it.

OMFG R2 ripped!!!!! or at least a very good LD rip the age of the show is barely apreciated in this set, you can barely tell this show's from 1972 some inconsecuential artifacts are seen, but with what I had to forgive in the AS set, this is so clear looking it's feels orgasmic

*Preliminary review* This is my favorite classic giant robot anime, a classic by any stretch of the word and someone in the HK anime Parthenon heard me :) this was the remaster I was praying for in my review of the AS sets 1 and 2(and 3 if I ever get to watch it instead of waiting for the new versions) menu is simple a still image with play all option, chapters option and subtitles(english, spanish, italian and none) chapter breaks are one per episode, this set includes opening, episode, next episode preview and ending sequence for all episodes on the disc..disc 1 has 11 episodes, discs 2 and 3 10 episodes, navigation thru the chapters menu can be wonky and slow, but functional This set introduces us to the cast of of the greatest giant robot series ever conceived, Go Nagai's Mazinger Z...Koji, his brother Shiro, Boss and his gang (Nuke y Mucha) Prof Yumi and his dauther Sayaka the Professors and the Photon Energy Lab, the depository of the Super Alloy Z, Japanium...the building alloy for the super robot Mazinger Z...and the enemies of mankind, Doctor Hell (you can't get an eviler name than that) and his henchman the half man, half woman Baron Ashura and their soldiers, the Iron Mask army, who from their Submarine base Saludo sent from Birdos Island in the Agean sea, sends his mechanical monsters, the Kikaiju to destroy Japan and take over the world...you get Baron Ashura and Dr Hell trying everthing on their power (extorsion, blackmail, assasination, robot impersonators, and giant robots of every kind) to finish Koji and Mazinger Z... In one word...I can't wait for sets 2 and 3..... :)
