The quality was awsome, But that is what you expext from a DVD

Audio:

There were no problems with the Audio from what i heard. It all sounded really clear.

Subtitle:

I have seen all the commercial released DVD's and the subs are pretty much right on except near the end. The only thing that I can say is wrong with them. Is they never sub any of the papers that are shown. And I think once or twice they forgot to put the subtitles in. Other than that they were perfect.

Comment:

Awsome series, though this set of DVD's only come with episodes 1-24. So you will have to either get the last two episodes or just get the the end of evangelion movie.

Very clean and crisp video. Didn't have any problem whatsoever. R1 DVD quality.

Audio:

No English dub, only Jap audio. But that's what most ppl prefer anyway. VA done well, and music is very clear. Cannot get better.

Subtitle:

Not the worst (since you can still tell what's going on, and character names stay consistant most of the time). But far from good sub. It's obvious that this sub was done by someone who doesn't normally speak English; they sort of traslate things word by word. So you can still guess what they are saying, just not what you would hear ppl speak normally.

Comment:

Anime itself is decent. It doesn't really have much connection with Ninja Scroll Movie (which probably is why most ppl would consider this series) except for the main character's name Jubei. I wouldn't call it my all time favorite anime or anything like that, but it still has good action/drama. But sub hurt this series more than anything. If you speak Japanese, this is a great buy at good price. If you sort of speak Japanese or don't mind gussing the detail (sub is good enough to explain the big main plot), this still is a good series. However, if you are looking for something R1 quality, and need everything neatly translated, then wait for another rip with better sub, Ninja Scroll fan or not. Hope that helped. ^_^

The video for this set looks really good. It has crisp vibrant colors and I only notices one or two instances of pixelation but that may have been dust on the disk.

Audio:

Audio is very good as well but I only gave it a four because it was extremely loud at the normal setting for my dvd player...so you should just turn it down a bit before starting to watch.

Subtitle:

Now here is where I have a problem. This is one of the worst translations I have seen with so many mispronunciations and bad grammer usage. You can sort of make out what is going on in the story but if you don't care for engerish stay away from this one.

Comment:

I thought this was going to be a good series when I bought it (thank god it only cost me $14) but after watching the first disk I don't know if I even want to finish it. There is an underlying plot somewhere in the show but you don't really figure that out untill the 5th episode or so because there are so many random villains popping up to fight with Jubei. Every episode there are anywhere frome one to three different bad guys who chase after the good guys...they fight...and then Jubie usually kills them by splitting them in half when ever he hets the chance. If I were you I would wait for a better HK version or the R1 disks.
