Video was very good, on ep.12 I noticed 2 very brief "breakups", other than that it gets a big thumbs up!!
Audio:
Excellent, except for a sync issue with ep.1, as a dub person I thought this was done exceptionally well, dub is several orders of magnitude better than the jap track.
Subtitle:
I only sampled them, but as this is an R1 rip-spot on.
Comment:
This 12 part series is a little different and in my opinion better than the tv series. again the romance between Ranma and Akane never is seen through to completion. The stories-except for 2 two parters are stand alone. If you like Ranma 1/2 you gotta have this in your collection.

Extremely happy with the video on this set! Absolutely beautiful video that was excellent quality on both tv and computer. At first my computer DVD player wouldn't play the disc, but I think that's because I have a retarded computer. But the video had amazing colors with no pixelation that I could see, no banding or color gradiations either. The animation in this set also seems a better quality than the series and was much more enjoyable to watch!
Audio:
The audio was excellent. I watch it in Japanese and it was right on the money like they usually are. I just can't get over the Japanese voices. But they were crystal clear and wonderful to listen to! No static or background noise and the music was very good as well.
Subtitle:
They had the same problem on this set as they did on the rest of the series, the subtitles and the translations of the text in the original show sometimes overlap one another and make them difficult to read, but other than that the subtitles had really good translation and were very easy to read. The timing with the voices was good as well. All in all, they were pretty good!
Comment:
The menu's were easy to use, colorful and had cute animations. The artwork is nice as well, although a little plain. The DVD's are colorful and adding it all together, if you love Ranma, then you HAVE to own this! I liked these better than most of the series episodes!

Video is perfect. Very vibrant and crisp, I didn't notice any pixelation during any of the episodes.
Audio:
The audio was perfectly done, with the excepion of the aforementioned 1st episode delay in English. My copy was not the 3 second delay everyone else seems to have been, it was only about a 1/2 second to 1 second delay, irritating but not unwatchable. The japanese audio was right on. All the others were perfect.
Subtitle:
I don't really know about the subtitling, as I only checked it to see if it was fairly correct. While it is well done, I refuse to watch any Ranma (or any humorous anime in general) in japanese. Due to the way humor is represented, the subtitling is very literal, and you just can't do that with jokes. The English dub is very good imho, but then again, I never was an anime purist so if I can get it Eng dubbed, I will.
Comment:
Great series of OVA's. They are among my favorite Ranma episodes of all time. I had all of them on VHS and now I'm glad to have them on DVD.

Picture was clear and good for this set by FX but the last 2 eps were kind of irritating.
Audio:
The sound was good and not too bad for this copy
Subtitle:
have not watched sub yet.
Comment:
Overall this set of ova is great and picture and sound quality were good , however the only problem I've with this copy(just my luck) that towards the end of the last 2 eps, it skips and frezzes...how annoying trying to fwd n rewinding. This is the 1st time this FX copy did get on my nerves. Well, my seller explained that this seldom happens and probably i got the bad ones and promised to replace it...hmmm so much for FX though..

Ripped directly from Viz's R1 release. An older series, but the video is as good as the official dvds. This is an OVA so the quality of animation is a little better than the TV series.
Audio:
Aargh! The first episode is ruined in this set due to a three-second sync problem. Don't even watch that episode, trust me! Japanese audio seemed fine. Once again, this is an older series and the sound is not perfect from the source dvds.
Subtitle:
Understandable, but not flawless.
Comment:
I highly do not recommend this series for someone unfamiliar with Ranma 1/2. This should be watched after the first or second season since the characters are well-established and you will get more of the subtle jokes that make the show so endearing. FX does a decent packaging job and the menus are simple, but effective. The first episode dub problem drove me nuts at first, but when I thought of how much an official R1 set costs in comparison I quickly forgot about it. Ranma is episodic anyway so you're not missing anything vital.

[REVIEW IS FOR MI RANMA 1/2 OVA (WHICH IS AN EXACT RIP OF THE FX VERSION)] The video is almost perfect, very very little pixelation but I did notice some minor ghosting in some of the later episodes on the first disc.
Audio:
There is a small sync problem with the english audio on the first episode, its not at all a big deal and doesnt hurt the set at all. Other than that it seems to be perfect all the way around!
Subtitle:
Never watched the subtitles... so I wouldnt know.
Comment:
I was very iffy about Ranma 1/2, so I decided to check out the OVA because it wasnt so expensive and would give me a good sample of the anime. I didnt think I would like it that much but I love it! Im definately going to buy the Tv series, this anime is very comical and entertaining, no one should miss it!

the video looked really good IMO very nice R1 rip.
Audio:
The audio was terrible in the frist epiosde there was about a 2-3 sec sync problem that really gets on your nerves, so i suggest you watch the frist episode in japanese with the subtitiles on if not just skip the whole episode because trust me it will get on you nerves the rest of the set had ok sound however another annoying thing was that in just about every episode in the english audio the volume would always keep lowering and highering in some spots not nearly as bad as the sync problem in the frist episode but annoying to say the least however the japanese audio seemed to be perfect from what i saw. However i like watching Ranma dub thats why i gave it a low score.
Subtitle:
Perfect R1 subs however the subs are white on this set instead of yellow how they are in the R1 release however still perfect subs just diffrent color.
Comment:
I was really disappointed in this set not only because of the audio problems but because the dvds i got had alot of errors on them which would make it hard to play this was the frist time this has happend to me as all other HK dvds ive bought have all worked fine, FX really disappointed me in this, it seems as they got really lazy as the quality of these OVAs are no where near perfect, anyway the OVAs from what i saw are really good so just hope FX updates this set or somthing or just hope you get a set without errors. UPDATE: Just to let everyone know FX released a new set of these oav dvds without the sync problems so everyone that was unhappy about that should pick up one of the new updated sets.

This series is really old. i have it on VHS. and the DvD look alot better.

i give it only a 3 because i was so mad that the first episode in dub was not in time. it was like 3 seconds off. If you dont like dub then this is not a problem but i like ranma in dub. thats why i got the fx ripp of this.
Subtitle:
I couldnt really find any problems.
Comment:
I like the Ranma OVA alot. i would reccomend this set to anyone that could get the real set. just watch the first episode in subtitles i guess. bottom line: Get this one if you like Ranma 1/2

Seemed alittle too compressed. Just very slightly not crisp but still good.
Audio:
The sound is not actually that bad but there is a sync problem. I like this show dubbed not subbed. The japanese has no sync problems but the first episode is about 2/3-1 second slow on the dub. After the first episode it works like it should. If you have a dvd player that is capable of playing movies at 1.2 speed it helps. Just fyi on the dubbed thing. Your standard 2.0 dual prologic tracks.
Subtitle:
Not bad but like i said i watch stuff dubbed but i still have subs on. They seemed decent enough.
Comment:
The first episode is annoying on that sync problem but the rest of the series is great. The video is not perfect, overall is seems more like vhs quality rather than dvd quality but as long as you don't mind the messed up first episode the set is worth it.

Considering the age of the OVAs, Viz's release is great. And FX ripped those DVDs obviously. Good quality, and no major scratches either.
Audio:
Kind of weak, but that's okay. The English dub is excellent, but Ranma 1/2 dubbing has always been good.
Subtitle:
Excellent R1 rips, but I wish the font color was yellow instead.
Comment:
Wonderful edition to the TV series. I even like the OVAs better than some seasons of Ranma 1/2. Get this!
