The pictures are very clear. Animation is substandard for 2002 production, so if you expect perfect and modern animation from shows like chobits or inuyasha then don't bother watching this anime at all. The producer is trying to make this anime looks as similar to the manga as much as possible, so the result is that animation is manga styled which unfortunately does not appeal to US audiences. But if you have watched anime for long time and are used to 1990s animation then you will find the animation of this series acceptable.
Audio:
Perfect audio. The voice acting of this anime is superb and one of the most solid team I have ever had a pleasure to hear. Watching them performing episode by episode is a memorable experience of a lifetime. Hard to find anime with more solid voice acting team to compare.

This anime is definitely one of the funniest series I have ever seen, rivalling Great Teacher Onizuka and Full Metal Panic Fumoffu for the comedy. Not only the protagonist and the hero, Soga Genzo, is extremely funny.. The male supporting characters (Fujiki, Yasuda, Kobayashi) are extremely funny too. And also Megimu's rival, Keiko, is extremely funny as well. This series feature one of the best characterizations I have ever seen in romantic / comedy animes where many characters have very distinctive personalities and charm. Of course, this anime is not for everyone.. as it has some really sensitive issue of gender bending involved.. but if you can get pass that.. you will be richly rewarded by its incredibly funny storyline.. You will be amazed how good the plot is and the level of suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat seeing whether Megumi will decide to become a girl and love Genzo or she wants to go back to a boy and be with Miki..

I would give it a 5 but I know ppl will be skeptical of a AV with video quality 5. It's definitely a DVD quality; sharp and almost-no pixelation on fast scenes.

Jap dup. Loud and clear.

Comment:
A light hearted comical series that is quite interesting. Ideas are not original but be reused in a fresh way. Often funny and amusing. Each disk has an extra of animated textless shorts of Amazuka in different outfit (magical girl, kimono girl, Chinese outfit girl...). Character drawing can be unappealing at first (not CLAMP style or Rumuko Takahasi's INUYASHA or KOR) but you'll get a liking to it as you're watching the series.
