Video:
Much better than many discs by this distributor. No distortion or source changes (ie, 1 EP from DVD, next from LD, next 3 from vhs, then back to dvd).
Audio:
a lot of people wouldn't notice the fading of the audio during certain parts of the dialog and themes, but I do. This problem seems to be popping up more and more often on releases by both this distributor and the MAC/"Big Green M" releases which are coming out these days. IMO, people shouldn't rip DVDs with any kind of DSP/limiter on the audio, it just lowers the quality of the disc rather than saving people's stereos ;)
Subtitle:
wow! did these guys fire their usual subtitler? the subs actually make sense! At least they do in the episodes, although the specials leave something to be desired, "engrish" wise. That having been said, I have noticed a few spelling mistakes here and there, and the font they chose for the subtitles themselves is horrible. I plan on re-working my copy into a 4 DVD set with corrected, readable subtitles at some point, but all in all this is one of the best discs I have seen from this distributor, subtitle wise.
Comment:
many owners of the original box-set (the 3 disc one) say Chise is portrayed as being 13, and Shuji as closer to 20, but in this version Shuji says she's 17... Subber taking a few liberties, perhapse? Who knows. Either way, this series rocks, and I'd highly reccommend it.

Video:
The video quality was awseome and it's near perfect Only complaint is that there is too much brightness in the color at time wich makes the scene look fuzzy to look One another thing is on episode 13, while Shuji is in the dark, there is some ghostly picture in the background I like the scene on episode 1 when Chise has a gatling gun on her right arm (with metal wings on her back) is standing near the destroyed building who are still on fire TOTALLY COOL
Audio:
No problem to report
Subtitle:
The sub is excellent. At time, I though born was mispelled bom but the r is near the n so it makes m. There is few mispelled name on the 1rst DVD in the voice actor interview. They mispelled Tetsu for Tetu. I didn't see any mistakes on the 2nd DVD No sub for opening/ending and preview

This anime (for me) was a real masterpiece. I haven't seen an anime like that. If you like a tragedy-war-romance anime, this is for you. What is it like dating an ultimate weapon ?? Shuji finds out the hard way that Chise (her girlfriend) a part human/mechanical being is being called the Goddess of Death. There are many sad part in the episodes especially episode 9 (personally it was one of the saddest episode i've seen to date). Plenty of broken promise, dead bodies lying around everywhere, a love-triangle that might shatter the relationship between best friends. The war scene are like the real thing (air raids, ground assault, heavy artillery). At the end, will Chise stay on her human side or will her mechanical side destroy the entire human race?? Will Shuji love Chise even do she might killed him at the end ?? A MUST SEE. HIGHLY RECOMMANDED Extras in the 1rst DVD: Textless opening and ending Commercial spot (trailer) of She, the ultimate weapon Voice actor interview with Chise and Shuji Voice actor interview with Fuyumi and Tetsu Extras on 2nd DVD Footage of the last episode in theater in Japan (2002/12/21) Voice actor interview with Akemi and Atsushi Interview with the director Interview with the producer
