Reviews for Kodomo no Omocha Part 2

Overall:

Video:

NOTE: I have tried to only mention what has not been already covered in the review below) Minor pixalation, but there isn't a great deal of motion, so its not a bother. The "fuzzy" scenes are Hayama's (or anyone else's for that matter) imagination/dream/wish scenes, and not a defect of the disc/encoding.

Audio:

Audio was fine.

Subtitle:

The second season (Middle-School) was translated/fansubbed by Kodocha Translation Project which is where the scripts originated for this season. The scripts are fairly well done (generally on part with Kodocha Anime's subs of the first portion of the first season), and the translations carry on in good form (speach patterns, etc). Although there are random timing issues every now and then, over 90% of which are corrected on the next line. These issues are mostly starting too late, but ending on time.

Comment:

Besides what the reviewer below mentioned (I have tried not to be redundent), there are two things that irk me about this set: 1) Since they chopped off the opener/ender of each episode, there is no "next ep" preview (which I dont watch anyway, but its the principle of the issue...) 2) You cant FWD/Rewind during anything on disc#1, and the "dvd memory" feature on my player doesnt work on D1 either, like something programmed on the disc temporarily turns it off. (2-5 are ok, just D1 has these issues).

The video is very good. Unlike the first set, there are actually chapter breaks between the opening/episode/ending. The only thing I found annoying is they used the same opening and ending for the whole disc. So sometimes the transition is choppy between the end of an episode and the ending. Sometimes a couple of seconds are chopped off the end of an episode.

Audio:

Very good. no problems.

Subtitle:

Great subtitles. A few typos and such, but overall VERY good.

Comment:

I was very happy with this set. A safe buy.
