Reviews for My Daddy Long Legs

Overall:

Video:

I havent really watched it yet, but upon checking all the dvds, the video quality is okay. MOST IMPORTANTLY, some episodes have a SHAKEY CAMERA so it is extremely irritating and might give some people a headache. The series isn't that old (1990+), the video quality looks is something you'd expect out of the older series. I think these might be older dvds. Would have been a 4, but th shaky bits bring it down.

Audio:

Audio seems fine. Not very scrisp and clear. The Chinese audio is terrible quality. Not the actual acting, but the quality of recording. It sounds like it was done in the back yard.

Subtitle:

Fansub subtitles seem okay. Slight errors such as putting the words the wrong way around but apart from this are very decent

Comment:

I read the book when I was younger, which made me excited to discover there was an anime as well! I havent watched it properly yet so I will update this area later on. The packaging is high quality. Quite rare, each disc has its own dvd casing which is unusual. Prints and covers are good quality. They look great lined up. BUT the odd epidoes of shakiness annoys. ******If you don't want spoiler when you get this set, don't read the back covers! For some reason they tell you who daddy long legs really is and tells you THE ENDING. Its a good thing I already knew otherwise I'd be peeved off.********

Video:

Good for its vintage. OP and ED are dull colored. PS: Perhaps it is my DVD player's fault, I've seen some video glitches while watching a couple espisodes.

Audio:

Loud and clear. There are Mandarine dub and Japanese dub.

Subtitle:

Random English misspelling. English sub is good.

Comment:

It is indeed a 'Cinderella' type of story which has genuine realistic emotion being depicted by an orphan. Judy Abbot's (the orphan girl) growth and emotional development is sincere and hearth warming. I found I could not stop watching once I started. It is a very pleasant series that I whole heartedly endorse.
