Video:
The video in this set is how Dragon Ball should be viewed. None of that over colored touch up that Funimation gave their dub. Very crisp and clear keeping the colors and that good old feeling of Toriyama's work back in the late 80's. I have no problems on my 30" TV nor on my 20" TV. You won't be disappointed here. The images are so crisp, take a look at the screenshots I have posted if you want a preview. This is how Dragon Ball Z is ment to be seen.
Audio:
This department would get a 5... The R1's keep the mono sound like Dragon Ball was made... MI chose to make a semi-stereo sound that I think sounds great. Obviously lots of people are into sets that have surround sound Dolby 5.0, but this just isn't one of them. But I assure you... Every kick punch and hit will be heard perfectly.

Comment:
By far these are still leagues ahead of the R1's. The whole screen is displayed instead of that cropping weird-ness on the R1's. The titles of the episodes are completley wrong and could have easily been searched for on any search engine for the correct titles. The translations of the opening and ending are off too, but it doesn't take away any of the action or brilliance of these sets.

Video:
This set covers the episodes where the R1 disks started with uncut subbed episodes, so it was very interesting to compare this with both them and the MAC R1 rip set. You won't believe the difference in video until you watch them one-after-another. The awesome video quality in MI's set has none of the cheap-looking colour over-emphasis and there is actually more of the picture! I know that sounds strange but you can see things around the edge of the frame in this set that, for whatever reason, are cropped off on the R1s. At last DBZ, as it deserves to be - full marks!
Audio:
MI have opted to turn the mono soundtrack into a pseudo-stereo one. The R1s have original mono, but I found MI's sound to be the clearer of the two. Also this set is missing the dub, so that's a big plus ^_^

Comment:
Even with their superior subs, the R1 disks (and MAC rips) cannot even come close to the DBZ experience provided by these MI sets. You finally feel as if you're seeing it the way the creator intended it to be. And you'll be too busy enjoying the show to notice the odd grammatical slip here and there.
