Video:
The quality was not as high as I excepted. It's a bit better than a normal videotape thats all. The big plus is, that there is no pixalation inside the episodes.
Audio:
Sometimes the sound goes back to normal video stye, but I think that's because of the age of this series. In the production time there was simply no system like DVD or Dolby Digitial.
Subtitle:
Most of the time the subs are very good. But in some moments the have a bit weird meaning. Well, in the main case it doesn't matter.
Comment:
Hana Dan counts to my favourite series and I really like this DVD. If you like Marmalade Boy you can't do anything wrong if you watch Hana Dan too.

It's not the best animantion I've ever seen but due to its age I think it's one of the best of its time. Generally the animation is very unusual and I have to admitt that I was disappointed when I watched the first episode, me, the one spoiled with animations like Full Metal Panic. But while I watched on and on I really started to adore this kind of animation and fell in love with every single character! It's so great! HanaDan isn't comparable to anything I've seen before. It's a unique little treasure that I'll never give away again.
Audio:
I didn't notice any big mistakes like wrong timing or so. It was like watching it live on TV!
Subtitle:
The subtitles are very good for a HK-Box. The names are always spelled right what is nearly the most important thing for me when watching an anime. The timing is good, not always perfect but it isn't disturbing. Sometimes the end of the sentence a character says stands together in one line with the beginning of a new character's answer. It's a bit annoying when it comes to romantic conversations but it doesn't destory the sense or something like that, it's just not so nice to read. But it doesn't happen too often and that's why it's still worth a 4 out of 5.

Episode 1 to 4 are very bad VHS rips. Episodes 5 to 27 are average TV rips (with the animax logo at the bottom right corner), the colors seems to be a little washed out.
Audio:
It's not great quality because of the source (VHS and TV), but it's not too bad either.
Subtitle:
The subs seems to be the best part of this set. I've seen eps 1 to 8 and they are probably taken from fansubs, and I don't remember any missing line. /Now I must watch the remaining episodes.
Comment:
It seems to be a very promising show, you'll probably love it if you like Shojo animes. But beware because the design is very special, plus the bad video quality doesn't helps. I didn't liked it at the begining but now I love it =).

It is a show that really has no details so its hard to tell about the video. It looks like a LD rip, possibly a DVD rip. No real problems. Only thing that's annoying is a watermark in the lower right corner that Vvery very seldom disappears. I think this was taken from a digisub. I'd give it a 4.5 but the watermark really annoys me.
Audio:
Sound is good. No real problems. The anime is fairly quiet using violin music and the like to set the mood. Very nice.
Subtitle:
Very well translated. No dropped lines I noticed. The translation is a bit literal, but not "engrishy". You won't notice how literal it is unless you know japanese. Very good job.
