Reviews for Sindbad the Sailor

Overall:

Video:

The color is slightly faded, which is expected with an anime from mid 70's, but pretty good in its own class. The drawing itself is simple and elementary.

Audio:

Clear enough

Subtitle:

Fairly decent. Most of the phrases are translated and timed correctly. Totally understandable and mostly engrish free. Biggest problems were name changes. Sinbad were changed to Fatty (why? why? why?), Hassan to Sam, Sheila to some jibberish.

Comment:

One word sums up this series - amusing. The story was based on 1001 Arabian Nights with some modification. Since MI version has 6 discs and this one 5, pick up this cheaper version for a little amusement of fantasy adventures of man-eating birds, magic carpet ride, floating island, flying castle, battle of magicians, etc.
