Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is an awesome anime. Perfect mix of action, adventure, cheese, and comedy all compact into a nice 6 episode OVA package . This release is amazing everyway you look at it, here's a break down:
Video - this show is from 1993 and looks phenominal. The video clarity is excellent, the visuals are sharp, the colors bold. Everything looks excellent. The scenes inside Cairo, I believe it was, look every bit as current as any anime coming out today. There are two video glitches in episode 2, one in episode 4, and a logo that appears to cover the Anime Cartoon logo at the beginning of every episode for about 20 seconds, aside from this, the show looks excellent.
Audio - There is a slight humm here, but it isn't overwelming and usually can only be heard on quiet scenes. Overall though - very, very good.
Subtitles - Fansub script all the way (there is no US release yet, it was just recently acquired by some weird company I'd never heard of and is planned for release by Synch-Point later this year.) - I took the liberty of downloading the fansubs and comparing, they're identical - and yes, this is a GOOD thing. The subtitles are spot on 99% of the time, there was one instance in episode 1 where the last few letters of the name "Speedwagon" were clipped and there was one missing sentence in episode 6. Aside from this, they were flawless (Yes, they even managed to use spell check or use the scripts directly, no memorable spelling errors.) Outstanding job.
Overall - This disc (or set if you get it from AC) is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The series kicks ass, the animation is old but current, and despite the cheesy names and looks of some of the characters, it represents one of the finest anime adventures of the past decade. On top of that, you get a kickass score by Marcos D'ambros.
