Yeah, a bit messy at time, but it came through where it matters. Very simple mistakes - I love being able to watch a show and not have to figure out what is being said!

Comment:

I assume this is a review of the boxset that has "dark Chii" embracing Chii... I got this set as it was the one which pointed toward having "ALL" episodes, not exluding the "the show so far" episodes. They may not be missed by many, but they did feature new animation, so I opted for it. A great purchase, I cannot say anything bad enough to prevent purchase.

Overall is very good anime and would be worth you while to add to your collection

Video:

The video changed from letterbox to full screen on the second disc, and even took away the quality. Ticked me off, but I'm forgiving because it changed back to letterbox on the third disc. Whenever it was letterbox, it was perfect quality!

Audio:

No drop-outs or distortions. Perfect.

Subtitle:

Lots and lots of misspellings. But nothing you couldn't understand. It was just on some stupid stuff that you won't use anyway. =P

Comment:

Nice DVD set, but why did they put the flash back episodes at the end?! I believe the conversation between Shinbo and Sunomo is the eighth episode, but they moved it second to last....

Comment:

my only problem with this copy is one the first disc they list the name of the episode in the chapter selection section but on the second and third its just episode numbers. this makes it dificult to find the spot where you left off on or your favorite episodes.

Video:

The video for the first 13 episodes is a beautiful letterboxed R2 rip. Then the second half drops to TV rips. The TV rips are pretty good quality but not very clear and the colors seemed to bright after DVD quality. However the last 3 or 4 episodes are a different TV rip. They have a bar on the left of the screen but seemed clearer then the previous one.

Audio:

No real problems with audio, the quality went down a bit when it went to TV-rips but thats expected.

Subtitle:

The subtitles are overal really good. Obviosly they are taken from fansubs and the begining is nearly perfect with only minor mispellings. Nothing major but later on the subs drop a bit they sometimes have gender confused and many more mispellings then earlier. Overall the subs were quite good.

Comment:

I didn't really regret buying this set as it is a much better buy then the AV version. I'm not a big fan of video quality switching but it was alright. If you don't mind some TV rips in the second half this is a good set.

Video:

No pixelation etc. that I noticed.

Audio:

No hissing or low volume or other annoying things that can go wrong with audio.

Subtitle:

No problem in the first 25 episodes. Very few typos and I always understood what was going on. The only thing was that the final episodes subs were obviously taken from another source cuz they sucked!

Comment:

Everything with this set was decently done. I truly enjoyed this series. Very entertaining to say the least. I'd recommend this one to even the most hard core mecha fan. It has a decent plot with definite character developement and I just couldn't stop watching it. I had to find out what the big mystery about Chi was! A good buy in my book.
