Audio:
Very clean audio, no distortion at all!!
Subtitle:
Like the other reviews say 2 set of subs with a few missing lines in episodes.
Comment:
I saw it dubbed and I liked it, My #1 choice is always japanese ( except in Cowboy Bebop, in my view its the best anime with english dub ) but they did an excellent job capturing the characters personality and the drama. I LOVE THIS ANIME!!!!!!!!!. It became one of my favorites!!. The story is excellent and the INTRO AND CLOSING SONGS ARE AWESOME, ESPECIALLY THE ENDING SONG THE LIRICS ARE GREAT, THEY ARE IN ENGLISH BY THE WAY!!!. ACTUALLY THAT SONG BECAME ONE OF MY PERSONAL FAVORITES NOT ON AN ANIME SERIES BUT IN GENERAL!!!!!!!!!!!! GRAB THIS ANIME AS FAST AS YOU CAN CAUSE YOUR MISSING OUT ON ONE OF THE BEST ANIME SERIES EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice video quality ripped from the R1 release. Very little distortion durring high action sequences.
Audio:
Excellent audio quality. No complaints at all.
Subtitle:
Two different sets of subs, one a direct caption of the english dialog, the other translated directly from the japanese audio.
Comment:
Blue gender is a very good series, and I would recommend it to lovers of action anime. There are numerous adult situations in the series, so keep the kiddies away. DarkanX's Series Rating: B-

A Perfect R1 rip as far as I can tell, I am usually picky about video quality but there was really nothing to stop this set from getting a 5.
Audio:
I watched it entirely in Japanese Dub which was your average 2ch stuff but it was perfect as well, no hissing or distortions. I listened to a few lines in English Dub and it sounds a bit louder than its Japanese counterpart.
Subtitle:
This set actually has 2 subtitle tracks and after observing for a while I came to a conclusion that they're were based on the English/Japanese dub respectively which results in different wording choices in some cases. The quality is what you'd expect from a R1 rip but unfortunately there are missing lines which prevents it from getting a perfect score. The amount of missing lines are negligible up until the last 4 episodes like the previous reviewer has mentioned. Then things start getting ulgy due to frequent missing lines, the only thing you can do here is either to change to English dub or rely on what Japanese knowledge you have to make out what's going on. I opt for the later option and found it still understandable.
Comment:
Exactly the same extras on all 3 discs (WTF?!) which is simply textless opening and ending. Those aren't really my cup of tea so I would've been more excited if an Art Gallery or something similiar was included. There are 4 chapter breaks within 1 episode, Opening, Epsiode Itself, Ending, Next Episode Preview. Personally it would've been even better if they added one in the middle of the episode, but this is already better than most of the stuff you see floating around. The gatefold is non generic and is up to par with what you'd expect from either MI or FX (albeit a tiny bit smaller). The content is simply breathtaking, I watched 20 episodes in a row without stopping (toilet breaks in between only) which says a lot since I only remember that Maison Ikkoku made me do that in past history. Without giving too much of the plot away I'll just say this show has some influences from Starship Troopers but it's a zillion times better. I don't know what the official rating is for this anime but it'd get at least a R16 in my book since it contains a fair amount of violence and sex. Neither were used explicitly but rather as to convey the story in a more persuasive tone but some will still find it offensive nonetheless. The group that made this obviously didn't stop at anything if it helps to get the point across all in a more convincing manner. If you like action, romance and depth then do yourself a favor and pick this up, be warned though this anime is definately not suitable the younger audiences out there (15 years and younger).

R1 Rip .The Video looks great, with maybe just some very minor pixelation in some action scenes.
Audio:
Sounded Good to me , no problems
Subtitle:
Subs are also ripped from the R1. Contains 2 Subs tracks, one Full Caption and the other with the proper subs. Very , very few missing lines, i'd say 1 or 2 for every 3 episodes ...that is until the last 4 Episodes, when about 30 /40 % of the subs are missing :( Had to watch it Dubbed.
Comment:
R1 rip. The only extras it contains are Creditless Opening / Ending (in each of the 3 DVDs !!! odd !). Comes in a nice coloured Gatefold (no ugly generic Mac , thankfully ! ) . Mac said that they will Redo the last DVD with the 4 episodes with missing subs (They said it would take about 4 weeks , this review is being made in May 2003 ) ...if they redo, and it comes out with no problems, i'd say that this would be an almost "Perfect" set ...
