Video:
The video is really good considering that MAC packed 10 per disc on the earlier discs. Compression has left its effect here and there. During most high action scenes the picture does get a little blocky or macroblocky, for the people who must have the proper term used. As the dics progress Mac lowers the episode count to 9 episodes per dics but quality of video does not change. Considering that Mac packed the entire series on 10 discs with ths quality, very comendable. GOOOD stuff!
Audio:
The audio is good but durin some of the earlier episodes it goes out of sinc but it only happens in one two episodes and thats it. Other than that the audio was done quite well. I'm going fifty fifty on the audio tract on this anime becaue I was first introduced to this series on Cartoon Network so I was already used to the English Dubb. Anyway, aside from the timing issues eary in the set the audio is very good.

Comment:
This series is was very light hearted and then became a little bit more series then from there it lost its attention keeping effect. The first part was entertaining, the second part was exciting, and the thrid part was boring. Don't get me wrong the third part had it's moment but it had me yawn most of the time. Also I would to add that i loved the opening themes and ending themes in the series, there were many to enjoy. I recomend this series but I do warn those who watch this, the third part of the series loses it ability to keep the views attention. Have fun watching this one. good stuff!

well, the problem with this set is that mac cut all the next episode previews, at least on the fisrt disc, and they used the same ending and opening even when it's obvious that the show changed them ( you can see expecially in the ed sequence that the original one starts and then gets cut, and the old one replaces it...weird). at the 3rd or 4th disc the new op/ed shows. don't blame me for my inaccurancy not remembering exactly when this problems occurr, since I really didn't enjoy Rurouni Kenshin that much to check it again. I almost finished the Kyoto Arc and didn't feel any interest growing neither on me nor my boyfriend. too many filler episodes, unbelievable charachters (kenshin being the main example)...nothing that gives me a clue of the reason why this serie is such an object of cult among anime fans.

The audio was very good, the only problem I noticed was in a few of the episodes, the japanese audio was out of sync with the video, only by a little, though not very noticable, there is one episode, 6 or 7 somewhere around there where it was out of sync by a few seconds. In this episode it's a little distracting because audio is occuring sooner then the video, which makes the subtitles out of sync with with the audio. However in the english audio in these cases there was no problem and it in sync. While it was a bother for the one episode, the rest were fine or tolerable.

Very little pixilation (sp?) that I've seen so far, most of which is probably due to my dvd player rather than the discs themselves. Sadly enough (or not really) almost all gliches were during still seanes. They are noticable but not enough to keep you from enjoying this title.

Very good, not much more I can say.

A must own for any Kenshin fan, or even if you just like action adventure series. Currently I am on disc 5/10, & will update this review as soon as I find need to change it. As mentioned before in one of the other posts, the discs hold extras, most being outakes, & some have art gallerys. The out takes for the most part are enertaining. One coplaint of the menus is that they at the end of the disc (or so to speak), so when you put it in, unless you hit Main Menu (or whatnot) it goes right into playing the show.

Watched 2 full episodes for this quick review since many of you probably were very curious about this set, the 2 episodes I watched had Openings and Endings, Subtitled aswell This set even includes Chinese subtitles aswell as some extras on each disc... first disc had some outtakes and artwork. This is the set to finally put those fansubs to rest! Check the few screenshots I posted too.
