The future for earth is a rather bleak one. After a devastating global war, the world is left as a wasteland. Many areas have been covered with toxic forests, populated by strange giant bugs that now roam the earth. A young girl named Nausicaä decides to learn more about the wasteland, and its odd inhabitants, rather than destroy them as most humans would rather do.
