NABAE = Not As Bad As Engi, but that is only because there is no color bleed... Video: 4; looked good to me Audio: 4; sounded fine to me Subs: 2; very poorly timed and translated; understandable though...

The Video isn't as bad as some people give it credit for, many times, in fact, it looks great. There is some artifacting and breakup on high motion sequences, but really, it's not that bad. The colors are bold and image is sharp. The subtitles also aren't quite as bad as some give it credit for. They're easy to understand, at least I thought they were - the timing, however, IS a little bit off. I wouldn't recommend 'em but they're far from the worst that I've seen. I'd say a 2 out of 5 on HK scale. Not completely unwatchable (that's Senkaiden Houshin Engi), but not quite up to snuff. Also do note, this is one of two releases titled "Sorcerous Stabber Orphen Revenge", the other actually is SSO Revenge, this one is the first season. Overall, only for the true fans who want to finish the show up in a hurry. Everyone else - look elsewhere.

The video and audio is acceptable, but the subs are about as bad as they come. The translations aren't actually that bad, the names are wrong of course but I never really had any problems following it. So what makes the subs as bad as they come? The worst timing ever is what makes them as bad as they come. Nearly every episodes subs are mistimed. The good ones are mistimed consistently, always a second or 2 late. The bad ones are completely random, some a second early, some 10 seconds late. Its awful and is one of my most hated sets. Under no circumstance should anyone buy this.
