A new era of technology has come; computers have advanced to the level of human beings called Perscoms. And Hideki Motsuwa wants to be in on the action. Between cram school and "other activities" Hideki can hardly scramble up enough money up to survive, let alone afford the latest in technology. However, hope still remains as he one day stumbles upon a perfectly good Perscom in a trash can. But unfortunately when Hideki carried her home to his apartment, she had lost her memory chip and was unable to say a thing except the single syllable chi. So Hideki being the simple kind of guy that he is named his new Perscom Chi. As Hideki is trying to teach Chi of the world and what is and is not proper behavior he discovers that Chi is not any ordinary model and that she could very possibly be a super computer called a Chobit. Could Chi be more trouble than she is worth?<br />
