Basically exact copy of r1 dvd. Subs, Video, Audio (jap 2.0 instead of 5.1) (english still 5.1) exactly the same. Cut the extras get it cheap basically identical except for packaging.

Video:

Back to the land of R1 rips I guess. Everything looks clean and defined and as such, carries a video presentation that's *nearly* in par with the R1 disc. Aside from overly dark video at times (mainly during the scene where Jubei fights the camoflauged ninja with the claws), the video on this set is superb.

Audio:

Audio too is great. Being an R1 rip, it obviously means that the audio setup will be the same. Unfortunately what this means is that the English track is encoded in Dolby Digital 5.1, whilst the Japanese track is done in Dolby Digital 2.0. Great if, like me, you love the dub. But I feel that some people may be put off by this. Nevertheless this is great audio, and hopefully the upcoming Ninja Scroll 10th anniversary disc, will contain a 5.1 Japanese track.

Subtitle:

The subs are (for once), practically dead-on rips from their R1 forebears. There's no timing problems, engrish etc.... Pretty darn sweet.

If you haven't seen Ninja Scroll, buy it now and get it sent to the rock that you've been living under for the last ten years. For the rest of us, this represents a tremendous R1 rip at an affordable price. Great stuff.

Clean R1 rip.

Audio:

A 2.0 Japanese and a 5.1 English that works really fine.

Perfekt timing and so on.

Clean R1 rip of an amazing movie that every otako should own. But the 2.0 japanese and 5.1 english make you wish that it was flipped to 5.1 japanese. That would rock!

Just watched this: excellent video, audio and decent subtitles. Be careful if you want surround sound, the Japanese soundtrack is in Dolby Digital 2.0 (i.e. only stereo). This movie is mindless fun, not much plot or character development, just lots of cool fights.

Yes, Yes its a Direct Rip of R1. But beware its only got 5.1 for the english audio! The Japanese is only 2.0. Sad but true...
