Overall:
Video:
Nice DVD rip for the first 2 discs, average TV rip for the last disc (except the first episode on that disc). The TV rip has vertical shadows and some slight phantom pictures, but not as bad as RahXephon (AV) or One Piece (AV).
Audio:
Nothing wrong on the first 2 discs, but noticeable noise on the TV rip.
Subtitle:
Understandable HK originals. Names are right (except Sakaki, who is called Sasaki). There are some lines missing (maybe 3 per episode). Some strange wording and the usual grammar issues (he/she or I/you mixed up etc.). This is a rip of the AV release, so if you know other AV releases with understandable original subs (like Pita Ten), you'll know what to expect. I guess it's true what the previous reviewer has reported about some details left out (some lines were really short for the number of words said), but I've seen worse HK originals.
Comment:
I really don't understand why those AV guys (this is an AV rip) always switch from DVD to TV rip. OK, it's not as bad as One Piece or RahXephon, but I wished they would have waited. Openening and ending are only once per disc. Normally I don't care (and don't report about), but I really liked the ending music (reminded me of Kate Bush). Anyway, this is a very nice series and despite my above criticism I really enjoyed this set. If you like school animes, get it. Maybe the MI version is better, but I haven't watched it, so I can't tell.

Actually, if you look closely at the show there are verticle bands running through the picture... not much to complain about though
Audio:
I noticed nothing wrong. Sound seemed very good

I give low marks here... I have seen the show completely fansubbed and the main grip is that some of the comedy is lost due to translation. Osaka plays word association games - they are completely lost and later when they go to Okinawa there is a part where the annoying girl picks up items that have names in close relation to "dirty" words - she then continues to repeat it over and over to make the other girl blush - that is lost in translation as well. Otherwise the translation is good.

Overall a nice set, but nothing special. A good solid title if you do not mind the above mentioned troubles... which are minor.

No problems that I can recall. DVD quality.

Nothing wrong again.
Subtitle:
Some spelling errors and a few mistimings, but nothing seriously wrong.
Comment:
No openings and endings except at the end of each disk. One of the best animes ever. Great for a few episodes at a time, or for watching all at once. ^_^
