Video:

Perfect R1 rip.

Audio:

Nearly perfect R1 rip. The dropouts the reviewer below noticed happen at the chapter stops. So I guess this is a small authoring error. But really nothing dramatic. It's like those small breaks that you get at the layer change on DVD-9s.

Subtitle:

Perfect R1 rip. So why do I give only 4 points? Because in the first episode the "green peas"/"greenpeace" joke wasn't translated. In the Japanese audio they something like "fried whale meat doesn't go well with green peas" with "green peas" said in English. But the subs say something like "fried whale meat doesn't go well with peas". How stupid do you have to be to not translate this joke in the subs when the pun is made with English words in the Japanese dub? Or aren't you allowed to make jokes about whaling and Greenpeace in the US? So I don't know what other things the subs might have left out.

Comment:

Only 3 eps short. I was surprised not to find a 4th episode, since there's no real ending. A nearly perfect set, but the story itself is not a must-buy. Not really good, but not bad either. Just "bouncy" ;-)

Video is just fine. I didn't see any errors whatsoever and I'm usually pretty picky about this.

Audio:

Clarity is fine. Both English and Japanese audio tracks sound great (although I've only seen one episode in Japanese.) In a couple of spots the audio cut out for a split second though. Nothing too serious.

Subtitle:

From what I saw (about half an episode) these seemed like solid R1 subs. Not great, but better than most.

Comment:

This is overall a great copy of this show. As for the show itself, well, the cover should have been a dead giveaway, but this show is really pretty risque. It would simply be playful bouncing breast action, except for a few scenes. Those scenes (such as the water spirit's transformation dance) keep you in a constant state of mystification as to whether or not you're watching hardcore porn or if you just have an overly vivid imagination o_O. The comedy holds up though, and Ongo is a hilarious character -- easily the highlight of this short series.
