Video:

Ugly TV rip. Grainy, dull colors, and extremely obvious ghosting. Looks like a second generation fansub VHS tape.

Audio:

Sounds alright.

Subtitle:

A great original subtitling job. Only knock on the subs is that they're not quite as sophisticated or as in-depth as the fansubs I've seen, but they're actually very close. Minimal Engrish, if any at all. The only gripe I have is occasionally mixing up the subjects in a sentence ("I saw you" is translated as "You saw me" for example).

I love this series, and I don't mind TV rips, but this is an extremely piss-poor job video wise by AV. From what I've read in forums online, AV's ripped the DVDs for half of the episodes and used ugly TV rips for the other half. If you don't mind the extreme difference in video quality, then by all means get this set. If you're picky about video, then wait for the MI set to be completed or get the Region 1s. ADV starts releasing them 3/25/03.
