Reviews for Witch Hunter Robin Volume 1
Video:
Audio:
Subtitles:

Overall:

Video:

Great video quality, looks as good as the Region 1 release

Audio:

Audio sounded great in my mini home theather, and the intro song is one of the best I've heard!!!. Its addictive!!

Subtitle:

Plain good!. Some lines are not understandable but you will get the idea with the drama or action going on. Still they are pretty good !

Comment:

This anime is one of the best new ones out there. The first volume doesnt have a big story to follow up, the good stuff starts around episodes 14-16. Still its a good buy, and this being an Anime Cartoon release ( I dont trust these guys too much, had bad experiences ) its a pretty good DVD. Still Like I said nothing good happens in this volume and it sometimes gets boring, just look forward to Vol. 2 to see the good stuff in Witch Hunter Robin!!

TV rip, Above-average quality--nice colors and detail, but sometimes ghosting is evident or can look a little griany.

Audio:

No problems on this front.

Actually more of a 3.25/5. Subs take a hit in quality from Disc 1. For the most part, the subs are fairly good originals that aren't hard to understand. But there is some Engrish and one of the characters' names is completely wrong (it's not supposed to be "Sunny"). Also, due to the lack of sophistication and depth in the wording and translation, there was one episode on this disc I just had trouble understanding exactly what was going on and why.

Comment:

Disappointed to see the subs drop in quality from Disc 1, but overall it's still a pretty good job--I've seen much, much worse. And judging from AV's original work on Onegai Teacher and RahXephon, they're getting better at it. If you liked Disc 1 and want to see more of the show, and don't mind deciphering a little more Engrish than before, then pick up the second disc.
