This appears to be a direct R2 rip. Everything was perfect. I checked the bitrate and it's right at about 10k...that's Attack of the Clones quality!!! All the backgrounds on this title are digital. The fight sequences skips between 2D and 3D art....absolutely flawless.
Audio:
No problems here either...perfect R2 Dolby Digital 5.1 effects. They even retained the DD intro.

Comment:
Story: Aliens invaded the Antarctic (I think this is where it takes place) some 33 years ago. After a long protracted war, the people of earth were able to push the aliens back to their homeworld (which is on the other side of what looks like a wormhole)...at any rate, from time-to-time, aliens manage to find themselves on this side of the universe. After over 30 years of warfare, the state of weapons, especially aircraft, have advanced beyond compare. Sentou Yousei Yukikaze is a story of a jet fighter that becomes sentient...I'll leave it at that for now 8-) Overall Thoughts: The concept of this show is very powerful...will advanced technology sometime in the future become self aware? Having said that, the show does have some caveats. First, the character designs are a bit androgenous. Upon futher investigation, it is discovered that the character designs were modeled after the chief CG guy at Gonzo Digimation. Secondly, there is a scene that breaks the laws of physics where Yukikaze is doing mach 1 in a ravine and spins on a dime to shoot down two missles...sorry...this just DOES NOT HAPPEN. Unfortunately, there are 5 episodes and only one on each DVD. If you've seen, and enjoyed, either Macross Zero or Ao No Rokugo...then I would recommend this title!
