Video - 4.5/5 -------------------------- Yup, has to be a rip... The video is clean, crisp and vivid and if it weren't for a slight bit of grain and one blip (may have just been my copy though) I'd have given it a full 5 out of 5. Both my small crappy little television and the bigger one downstairs gave me the same impression of an all around good rip. Sound - 4/5 -------------------------- Again there isn't really anything to moan about. The sound is rich and I didn't notice any hum, break-ups or blips. The track sounds good, that's all I can say. Subtitles - 4/5 -------------------------- Nothing wrong here, especially when you won't even have to bother with them much thanks to a good portion of the film being in English. These are very much direct subtitles instead of translations which means both Japanese and English speech are shown. Not bothersome at all. Basically there's only one reason I can think of not to buy this and that's the fact the R1 and R2 (UK) versions can be found cheaply. The last time I saw Blood for sale it was £8.99 and I bet you could find it cheaper second hand. Also if you order off the internet you can find the R1 for very little also.

This review is for the Anime Cartoon release of Blood the Last Vampire. Video- 5 out of 5. The video quality looks to be a rip of the R2 release no problems. The only annoying problem is the Anime Cartoon logo popping up here and there throughout the movie. Subs- 3 out of 5. This movie is mostly in english dub and about 1/4 of the film is japanese dub. The english subs are great, but they didn't need to sub the english speaking parts, that brings the sub quality down. Even when the english parts were subbed it wasn't exact. Audio- 4 out of 5. Blood shows up on my dvd player options as dolby digital 5.1. my reciever is dolby prologic, so i can't comment on the 5.1 aspect, but it plays awesome in dolby prologic, utilizes all speakers effectively. comments- this is a great release if you don't want to spend $29.95 on the R1 release for a 45 min movie. If you can get past the subbing of the english dubbed parts, go for it you wont be dissappointed
