This Item is definitly an absolute MUST HAVE. This is only one half of the Series. Gals has 52 Episodes. As far as I know Part two isn't available yet. At least every episode is closed and therfore it's not that bad just to watch half of it, right!?

Very good. On the first disc I experienced some flickering horizontal lines. Not that bad, and maybe others won't notice it.

Audio:

Sounded good on my simple TV. But I had the feeling that the opening sounded kind of "tinny". But maybe that's the way the song was.

Subtitle:

Excellent. Probably taken from fansubs. Even some signs are translated and most of the short GAL's lessons that explain some of the slang (although sometimes this is weird for the english sub like: "no pro means no problem - that's no problem in Japanese") Only some minor flaws: Some few lines missing, sometimes the sub speed is very fast, especially when an ultra short GAL's lesson is inserted. On the first disc there are quiet a lot of typing errors, but this gets better with the other discs. Later on some names (mostly of side characters) are occasionally wrong (and they insist on calling Nii "second place" for the last half).

Comment:

This series was a very positive suprise. Although I had ordered it without knowing anything about it, this was the first set that I finished watching in an 80 disc order (apart from some single disc movies). So you get an impression how much I liked it. Light-hearted entertainment away from your anime stereotypes. Kotobuki Ran is just a "normal" girl. No magical powers, no mechs and no overly complicated love triangles in this show. As the last episode in this set ended with a preview, I hope there will be more of it. Highly recommended! Note: Judging from the subs, I think this is an MI rip (although there are no logos or watermarks). So probably all ratings would be valid for the MI set, too.
