Video:
Really nice video; R1 rip. Seen this DVD set on my computer's DVD drive at home and on my portable DVD player on a recent trip, and noticed no video abnormalities.
Audio:
Used my usual 2-speaker setup; sounds very nice with no defects in either language. However, the Japanese track is slightly out of sync by about a quarter-second.

Comment:
Packaging: Front cover has the full-cast -- Belldandy, Urd, Skuld and Gan-Chan, with show title in English. Back cover has description in English with a few screen-grabs, plus a bio of Urd. (On the original R1s, each of the 4 DVD cases has a brief bio of a featured character -- others were Belldandy, Skuld and Gan-Chan.) The gatefolds feature different group pics of the characters. These were presumably lifted from the R1s.
Menus: The main menu has 3 selections: Play Video, Set-Up and Scene Access. "Play Video", of course, is self-explanetory. "Set-Up" enables English and Japanese audio, and toggles English subs. For "Scene Access", the first 2 disks has the episodes divided into 2 sections -- you choose the sections to access the scene menu; for the 3rd disk, selecting "Scene Access" takes you directly to that menu. Also, the main menu for all 3 disks is subtitled "The Gan-Chan Files" -- on the original R1s, each disk had a different subtitle; "The Gan-Chan Files", "The Urd Files", "The Skuld Files", and "The Belldandy Files".
Chapters: each episode has 3 chapters -- opening, episode and closing. And yes, each 5-minute episode has the same opening and closing during the season they are in (there are 2 seasons, with a new opening and closing in the 2nd season).
Story: When Keiichi leaves the house, the three goddesses shrink themselves down to pint-size to help out another tenant -- a rat named Gan-chan. This practically an all-comedic version of "Oh My Goddess", in which this series is based on. (In actuality, the anime is based on the "Mini-Godeess" manga , which in turn is spun off from "Oh My Goddess".)
The stories are rather cute and somewhat funny, but the big debit is that this series has too little Belldandy -- in "Oh My Goddess", she was the main character, but in "Mini-Goddess", she was demoted to "supporting character", only popping up to give a fact or to bail the other characters out at the last minute; in a couple of episodes, she doesn't appear at all (apart from the credits).
Familiarising yourself with either the anime or manga of "Oh My Goddess" isn't necessary, but it would be a plus for some.
