Comment:
To start off, this set is almost identical in quality as the first set. This set is a VHS rip (complete with VHS distortion at the bottom of the screen). THis set doesn't really accel in way shape or form, but it is however good enough to watch.
Video 3/5
The video is still pretty bad. It's an obvious VHS rip, so there is the aforementioned distortion at the bottom, as well as color bleeding, blurriness, and a general amount of fuzziness. Aside from the complaints, it doesn't really macroblock at all, and the video was good enough to score a 3, however, Mi should have made this from DVD source (since it's readily available).
Audio 3.5/5
I didn't notice as much dropping out as I did in the first set. THe first set did it a lot more often than I could tell in this set, but the audio isn't perfect. It is however really clear, but just like the first set, the volume will get kinda quiet or muffled sometimes.
Edit: If you turn the set up a bit louder, and wear headphones, you can actually hear the Hum of a VCR running.
Subtitles 4/5
No improvement. The subtitles are very good in that they're very readble, and the grammer is correct, however, they seem to misspell a LOT of words. And every once and a while, you'll see the line break commands in the actual subtitle.
This set concludes a pretty interesting storyline, and I think it would be in the best interest of the anime viewer to check this out. However, for someone who wants to keep this a while, may want to go for the R1 DVDs if they want better video and audio quality, but if you're someone who just wants to see it, then this a great buy.
