Ranma Saotome and his father, Genma, show up in the Furinkin suburb of Tokyo, Japan. They're back from their training journey in China. However, they have a secret. Anyway, Ranma and Genma show up at the Tendo Dojo. Genma is friends with the father and owner, Soun. He has three daughters, ranging from the oldest to the youngest - Kasumi, Nabiki and Akane. In order to carry on the dojo, Soun and Genma make Ranma and Akane engaged. As for Ranma and Genma's secrets... when splashed with cold water, they transform into a girl and panda respectively. Hot water reverses the change. During their training mission in China, they visted the legendary tourist attraction, Jusenkyo. It is littered with springs, each possessing an unusual curse - when you fall in, you take on the form of whomever or whatever died there. <br />
