Overall:
Video:
I'd say a DVD rip, but not the greatest. It's not bad, don't get me wrong, just not as sharp as most recent stuff. Don't know how old this tv special (yep, not really a "movie") is, and that may have a factor in the video quality.
Audio:
Japanese language sounded okay. Only stereo, I'd guess. English track was okay too. It sounded pretty much the same to my ears.
Subtitle:
If this was a R1 rip, it's a sucky one. The subs miss 1/2 of the spoken lines! I had to turn them off after ten minutes into it, it was so annoying. I'm embarrassed to say that I had to listen to the dub (and the translation of Ryo's name as "Joe") for the rest of the show. Characters would talk back and forth, but the subs for the first person who spoke would run through the lines of the second person who spoke, and then (maybe) they would change when the first person spoke again. You get exactly 1/2 the conversation. What a crock!
Comment:
A funny and action filled City Hunter special. Worth it if you like dubs. It's worth crap though if you prefer the original japanese.
