Video:
Terrible TV rip. The DVD RAM logo appears at the start of every episode, and in the middle of every episode. They recorded it by... starting the recording when the episode began, stopping it during the commercials, then starting it once the show started again. This resulted in some seconds being cut out from the middle. Halfway through an episode, the commercial marker is when the wooden door swings shut, but that was cut, and it jumps forward. The video is VERY bad. It's grainy, soft lines and edges, but worst of all... the terrible "Imprint Effect". As with lots/all of AV's TV rips, it looks like there is another image faintly visible. It's jst so annoying. There's ghosting all over, even when there's no movement. It very much sucks.
Audio:
Regular audio, which nothing special. It was clear and synched the entire time, so no complaints here. Nothing to rave about either.

Comment:
This is not not not Movie 5! Movie 5 is "The Phantom of Baker Street" (very good). This is nothing more then a 3-episode arc ripped out of the TV series and labeled as a movie, or even a special. It's neither, just three episodes. The episodes are involving a murder series at a hotel-like place where Ran, Sonoko, Conan, and Kogoro are staying. At all the times, chocolate is found near the body, and they all have alibis. I didn't find this episode as interesting, or even that great. It was one of the episodes where the animation looks old and repeated cels (especially in the snow scenes, where you can see the pattern loop quite plainly). The cover looks pretty good, following a template-like style identical to their equally-as-crappy Evidence of the Crime "movie" DVD (with different colors). The cover looks rather nice, with a sort of collage type which makes the show look a lot more cheerful and happy then it really is. The menu is a plain still image junk IDENTICAL to the Evidence of the Crime DVD. These three episodes were not worthy its own DVD, and if they were... I would not be able to reccomend it. Quality sucks a$$ in pretty much everything that really counts. If you HAVE to see it, then go for it. It's you're borderline, stick with the actual movies.
