I've hoped for years that Gatchaman would someday make it onto to DVD with subs, and it finally has. The audio and video are absolutely gorgeous (i think they were ripped from the R3 DVD set released a couple of years ago). The subtitles are pretty good -though not perfect. The timing is a little off, with subs changing a bit too quickly. The names are wrong (here the characters are called: Sean, Alex, Jenny, dragon, & Sting instead of Ken, Joe, June etc.), but it's forgivable. I purchased the 8-Disc set containing episodes 1-72, meaning it's still not complete. The series is well over 110 episdes long. While i've only watched a disc and a half so far, I have no complaints. Lovers of old-school Tokusatsu anime will never regret owning this hot DVD collection. Hopefully we'll be seeing the rest of the series on DVD very soon (as well as other Tokusatsu shows like HURRICANE POLYMER and ROBOT FIGHTER CASSAN).
